Dear Families,

So many memories were made this week! The K-2 Spring Concert was wonderful - we are so proud of our K-2 singers, and so grateful to our incredibly talented music teacher, Ms. Alexandria Pesa for putting together such an adorable, festive show. Our Memorial Day Ceremony and Grandparents/Special Visitor Day was a highlight as well. It was such a special event, and one that our students will always remember. A huge thank you to our speaker, Sergeant Jonathan Doherty, for making the event so meaningful. Events like this remind us all what a special community we have here at Wessagusset!

The Town of Weymouth has several events taking place tomorrow, May 29th, to commemorate Memorial Day. Details are as follows:

9:30am - Korean War Memorial Ceremony (Jackson Square)
10:15am - Memorial Day Parade (Jackson Sq to Town Hall)
11am - Weymouth’s Memorial Day Program (Ralph Talbot Amphitheater)

Important Bus Information: The WPS Transportation Department is now accepting applications for SY 2023/2024 Bus Transportation. Parents of this current school year have been sent an email with the Bus Application. Please use that email to submit your students’ bus application. The deadline for submission of the application is June 16th. We are not accepting bus applications for Kindergarten students at this time. More information will be sent to Kindergarten families in the first week of June. Bus routes for the 2023-24 school year will be available in August. Please note bus routes are subject to change as we continue to make adjustments to routes. We recommend checking the routes periodically for changes. We have officially wrapped up MCAS 2023! Our students did an excellent job, and we are very proud of their hard work and focus. Well done!!

The Grade 5 Band Concert will be held on Monday, June 12th at 7:00 pm in the Chapman Auditorium. More information can be found here: Band Concert Info

Finally, I hope everyone can find a quiet moment tomorrow to reflect on Memorial Day, and the importance of honoring and remembering all those who have lost their lives while serving in the Armed Forces. These heroes and their loved ones will be in the hearts and minds of the Wessagusset staff.

Parent Council Corner

Please join us on Sunday 6/4 for the 5K road race and North Weymouth Day. Even if you’re not a runner, join us for the raffles, food, music and fun. We have partnered with North Weymouth Civic Association again this year and North Weymouth Day celebration will follow the race.

Parent Council is seeking gift baskets to raffle at our 5K road race. No basket is too small, or partner with a few friends / families and make make a bigger one. We appreciate any contribution to add to the many fun items we already have. If you’re able to donate please contact Chrissy Oliver at
