Traffic Line Safety at School
A reminder about courtesy and safety in the traffic line. We need to remember to drive with the utmost caution around our school. I am requesting that everyone re-commit to our shared desire for safety around our school:
Mind the speed limits in our parking lot and in the neighborhood.
Always give pedestrians the right of way and be cognizant of children around you.
It is helpful to school personnel if you place a sign with your child’s first and last names in your vehicle’s windshield. This keeps the line moving efficiently.
Please be courteous in the arrival and pick-up lines and pull all the way to the picnic area as directed by school personnel. DO NOT weave in/out of the line. If all drivers continue to pull up, the line will move quickly.
Load/unload quickly at arrival and dismissal so the process works efficiently while staying safe.
Roslyn Road's Parent Party! FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 28TH, 7:00-11:00PM
We are SO CLOSE to Roslyn's Parent Party: Casino Night! The big night is just about 2 WEEKS AWAY!
All ticket purchases, sponsorships, silent auction, and raffles will go through www.roslyncasino.com. Be sure to get yourself registered on the site to participate in the silent auction and raffle starting Friday, February 14! Show your Bulldogs some LOVE and help make this event a huge success
Sledding
With the impending possibility of our first significant snowfall of the school year, we do add sledding as a recess activity. This is contingent on adequate supervision and favorable conditions. We utilize the slope of the retention pond when dry and clear of standing water. Students MUST sled feet first or in a seated position. (No head first sledding at school). The sleds must be those provided by school (soft shell). If this is an activity that you would prefer for your child not to participate in please let the office know. We will begin sledding next week as an activity for intermediate level students beginning with 5th grade and expanding to 4th and 3rd. Students must have snow gear to sled. We do not sled in K-2 grade.
Snow Gear Reminder
Snow Gear Reminder: In order to play in the snow students must have protective gear: winter jacket, boots, SNOW PANTS (these can be any pullover pants that have some water resistance), hats and gloves. Recess is at the middle of the school day and we want our students dry and ready to learn when they come inside from winter fun! In addition, we go outside for recess until a “feel like temperature” of 0 degrees and below! A change of clothing to be stored in the cubby is always a good idea. Proper attire helps to keep you warm too!
