Kohlberg Elementary Newletter
Week of 8-17-26
We are just two weeks into the school year, and we already have so much to celebrate! Our Coyotes have been working hard, learning, growing, and showing us what it means to be #CoyoteStrong!
We are thrilled to share that the TEA ratings are in, and Kohlberg Elementary has earned a B rating! But that’s not all… Kohlberg received an AMAZING FIVE TEA Distinction Designations! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This achievement is a reflection of the dedication of our students, teachers, staff, families, and community. Our Coyotes have demonstrated incredible growth, and we are so proud of everything they have accomplished. This is just the beginning! We will continue to build on this momentum and provide our students with the instruction, support, and opportunities they need to reach their full potential.
Over the next weeks, our Coyotes will begin taking the i-Ready Diagnostic Assessment in Reading and Math. This assessment is designed to help us better understand each student's current skills, identify areas of strength and areas for growth, and help our teachers provide appropriate interventions and targeted instruction.
We ask our families to encourage their Coyotes to get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, arrive at school on time, and most importantly, take their time and do their very best!
We are incredibly proud of our Kohlberg Coyotes and excited about what this school year has in store. A B rating, FIVE distinctions, and so much growth already—let's keep building! 💚💙

I-READY DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENT FOR GRADES K-5
Subject: i-Ready Diagnostic Assessment Notification
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We would like to inform you that your child will be participating in the i-Ready Diagnostic Assessment in the coming weeks. The i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment for Kinder through 5th grade that helps teachers identify each student’s strengths and areas for growth in reading and mathematics.
The assessment is not graded and is designed to provide valuable information about your child's current academic performance. The results will help teachers plan instruction, set learning goals, and provide targeted support to meet individual student needs.
To help your child do their best, please encourage them to:
Get a good night's sleep before testing.
Eat a healthy breakfast.
Arrive at school on time.
Take their time and do their best on each question.
Please remind your child that it is important to work independently and answer each question thoughtfully. The assessment adjusts based on student responses, so some questions may seem challenging. This is a normal part of the assessment process.
We appreciate your partnership in supporting your child's learning and academic growth. If you have any questions regarding the i-Ready Diagnostic Assessment, please feel free to contact your child's teacher or the school office.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Erica Gonzalez

Donor's Choose for our Broadcast Club
Dear Kohlberg Family,
I want to make sure my students have exactly what they need to succeed, so I've created a project through DonorsChoose, the nonprofit classroom funding site for public school teachers.
Here's my project: Help Our Student News Team with a New Broadcasting Laptop!
Your support would mean so much to my students. In return, you'll receive our heartfelt gratitude.
Thank you for considering a gift to my class!
Cheryl
P.S. If you know anyone who may want to help my students, please pass this along!
