JLA Weekly Family Update

Week of August 31

JLA Weekly FamilyUpdate Week of August 31

Dear Joyful Learning Academy Families,

We've had another wonderful week of learning and growing at JLA! As our students continue to become more comfortable in their classrooms, our focus has been on strengthening daily routines while diving deeper into instruction aligned with the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS). Each day, our scholars are building important skills through purposeful play, hands-on learning, exploration, and meaningful interactions with their teachers and classmates. It has been exciting to see their confidence and independence continue to grow!

As we prepare to welcome September, we have several exciting events and opportunities coming up for our JLA families. Pleases be sure to read through the entire newsletter each week so you don't miss important dates, reminders, and details about all that's happening at Joyful Learning Academy.

Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and support. We look forward to another wonderful week of learning, growing, and making joyful memories together!

Warmly,
Tracy Clarke

Small Moments, Big Learning Small Moments, Big Learning

This Week’s Tip: Sing, Sing, Sing!

Singing is a fun and simple way to build early literacy skills at home! Songs and nursery rhymes help children hear and recognize rhythm, rhyme, syllables, and different sounds in words, which are important building blocks for learning to read. Try singing familiar songs together during everyday routines like riding in the car, getting dressed, cleaning up, or bath time. Pause before a familiar word and encourage your child to fill in the blank, clap along to the beat, or make up silly rhyming words together!

Remember: Learning doesn’t always have to look like “school!” Singing favorite songs throughout the day turns ordinary moments into opportunities for language development and learning. Those small, joyful moments add up to BIG learning!

Arrival & Dismissal Arrival & Dismissal

  • Please keep the coned entryways clear unless directed otherwise by a member of the JLA team. These areas must remain accessible for our buses and School Resource Officers to safely enter and exit.
  • Close the gaps! As you move through the car rider line, please pull forward as much as possible. This helps us get more vehicles into the parking lot and safely off the street.
  • During morning arrival, please remain in your vehicle. A JLA staff member will assist your child with getting out of the car safely.
  • Keep your car rider tag visible on your dashboard during dismissal. This helps our team quickly identify your student and keep the line moving efficiently.
  • Give one another grace. 💛 We are all working together toward the same goal—ensuring every JLA scholar arrives and gets home safely.
  • Arrival: 7:50 - 8:15 AM Dismissal: 2:30 - 3:00 PM
  • Weekly Reminders Weekly Reminders

As we head into another exciting week, here are a few reminders:

    • Label Belongings: Please label all of your child's belongings, including jackets, lunch boxes, etc. This helps us return items to the correct student.
    • Change of Clothes: Every student should have a labeled change of clothes at school in case of spills or accidents.
    • Water Bottle: Please send your child with a labeled water bottle each day.
    • Bookbags: Please make sure your child brings their bookbag to school every day. Each student's dismissal tag is attached to their bookbag, which helps us safely match students to the car rider tag displayed in your vehicle during dismissal.
    • No Toys. Please keep personal toys at home unless specifically requested by your child’s teacher. This helps us prevent distractions and avoid lost or misplaced items.
