Reading in K/1 after lunch
Dear Families,
The rising 6th graders had a successful move-up morning at MUMS this past Wednesday, getting their first taste of the space, meeting some of the faculty and seeing their class of 2032 all together for the first time!
As many of you know already, Samantha has stepped in as the long-term sub in the 2/3 classroom for the balance of the year. Christina Wadsworth needed to hand over the position suddenly due to a family emergency. Samantha has done a wonderful job carrying forward the curriculum and helping the classroom community resettle. If you have absence or dismissal messages, please continue to send them to Samantha. Shannon and I are checking the phone and email regularly.
Much Ado About Nothing - I hope you will join us for the 4th/5th grade performance of Much Ado About Nothing. The dress rehearsal will be Tuesday (6/3) at 1:20 and the performance will be Wednesday (6/4) at 6:30. Be prepared for an interlude of excellent entertainment.
Brown and black boots/shoes needed:
Two pair shoes girls’ size 1.5-2
Boys’ boot sizes 7-8 wide, 5.5, and 4
If you have shoes and/or boots we could borrow through next Wednesday, please send them in (labeled) by Monday (6/2).
Lunch volunteers - We need volunteers for Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of next week. If you can volunteer for one of these days, please email me cjohnston@acsdvt.org or sign up directly on the calendar.
Branbury help needed: Please email me cjohnston@acsdvt.org if you can help out.
Eyes on children in the water: We have hired a lifeguard for the day, but would appreciate a few parents signing up for shifts to add an extra set of eyes on the children in the water. We would like 3-5 volunteers. Once we have volunteers we’ll assign times.
Periodic head counts: We would like to reinstitute the hourly census of the students (a task to be shared with school staff). We need two volunteers per classroom.
Lunch: Barbara needs extra help prepping and serving lunch..
Thanks, Christina

We’re raising pay for substitutes! Apply now!
Substitute teachers are crucial for our students, staff, staff, and schools! We are increasing our daily substitute teaching rate to $160/day for unlicensed subs and $200/day for licensed subs. This change begins on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 when students return from winter break. This flat rate replaces our sliding rate of pay for subs depending on the number of days worked.
To apply, you can email your interest to HR@acsdvt.org with "Substitute Position" in the subject line. You can also visit this listing on school spring.
