Summer Reading
Reading is a cornerstone of a great education, and at PCK, we place special emphasis on fostering a genuine love for it. Our annual Summer Reading Challenge encourages students of all ages to keep their love for reading alive, because we believe that the habit of reading is what shapes lifelong learners.
We are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of six outstanding students, from grades 1-6, who showed remarkable dedication and enthusiasm for reading this summer.
Congratulations to our winners:
1st - Oakley Sweeney
2nd - Jade Simonton
3rd - Brecken Call
4th - Wyatt Larson
5th - Amanda Marsh
6th - Halle Johnson
Let's continue to support the joy of reading and inspire all our students to engage with books as an essential part of their educational journey.
Art
Once again for the 2025-26 school year, our Art Department has teamed up with Square 1 Art to give K-6 families a special way to celebrate their student's creativity.
Students are already hard at work on a unique art project in class. Soon, you'll have the chance to purchase your child's artwork on a variety of household items, from mugs and pillows to water bottles and blankets. This is a wonderful way to create lasting keepsakes and memories.
When students complete their projects, we'll send home order forms with all the details and options. If you have any questions, feel free to contact our Visual Arts Teacher, Kate Dulaney, at kdulaney@ckcs.net.

Science Camp
As part of our ongoing commitment to providing students with a well rounded and meaningful educational experience, we’re pleased to share an update on our 6th Grade Science Camp.
Students explored the wonders of Estes Park, diving into topics like fire ecology and wildfire management, participating in hands-on hydrology and glaciology lessons, as well as strengthening their collaboration skills through various team building activities. These engaging, real-world experiences are designed to spark curiosity and foster a lifelong love of science.
We are proud to offer opportunities like Science Camp that bring learning to life by encouraging discovery, teamwork, and a sense of adventure that we hope our students will carry with them for years to come.
Thank you to our chaperones Mr. Minshall, Mrs. Vento, Ms. Garbett, Ms. Seaback, Ms. Sitzmann, Ms. Peronne, and Mrs. Myers for helping to make this trip possible for our 6th grade students.
Late Testing Lab
We would like to inform all families that the Late Testing Lab will be cancelled on Wednesday, September 24.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If your student intends to go to Late Testing Lab on this day, they should be picked up at their regular carpool time.
Sibling Status
Tomorrow, Friday, September 19 at 4:00 p.m. we will no longer be accepting submissions for our Sibling Status Form.
This form is intended for families with children currently enrolled at PCK who also have siblings on our waitlist. By completing it, you’ll help ensure that siblings of current students are given priority and moved to the top of our growing waitlist.
We kindly ask eligible families to re-submit their sibling information using this form so we can keep our records accurate and make the process as smooth as possible. It’s quick and easy and takes just a couple of minutes to complete. If you've already completed this form, then please note you do not need to complete it again.
We’re excited at the prospect of welcoming more of your family into the PCK community!

The SAC serves an essential function by providing accountability in an advisory capacity. Our purpose is to inform, encourage, and create opportunities for parents or guardians to engage meaningfully with the school's performance, budget and improvement plans.
Volunteer Spotlight
This week, we’re proud to shine our Volunteer Spotlight on one of our local businesses that went above and beyond to support our staff.
On our teacher inservice day, Paris Baguette generously catered breakfast for our entire team, completely free of charge. Their thoughtful gesture helped our staff feel appreciated and valued, and we are truly grateful for their kindness.
Moments like these remind us of the incredible impact our community partners can have. We're moved by Paris Baguette’s generosity and are reminded of the meaningful ways we can all support one another to create a stronger, more connected community.
