Connection Point Newsletter
Hi Church,
This weekend we will be looking at Luke 17:11-19, the cleansing of 10 lepers. All ten are healed and only one comes back to offer gratitude and praise to God. We will talk about how the church is called to be the voice of praise to the work of God in the world. The church exists to point to God in our work and actions. Everything we do is filled with rushing back to Jesus' feet and proclaiming who He is.
One of the ways we offer gratitude, or worship, is by how we speak of and proclaim the work of God. Oftentimes, in my own personal worship and in my family's worship, I will use the liturgy from a monastery in the U.K. They offer daily readings and Scriptures. I send my family the daily Scripture from this site every morning. I’m sending the links to you because they offer a great language of praise:
They do three readings every day. Here are the pages:

See you Sunday.

John
Congregational Meeting
We will be having a congregational meeting for all members after service on Sunday October 25th. During that meeting, we will be asking for dialogue and a vote on two issues:
The first is simply a logistical issue that all District churches in Massachusetts have to partake in. It updates our relationship with the state but we need congregational approval from the membership
As you are likely aware, our building is about 50 years old. And because of our use and faithfulness of ministry in the building, it is beginning to show it’s age. Because of that, we need to do some renovation. There are a number of areas we are looking to update. The primary areas are we need to address is 1) replacing all the windows in the building; 2) fixing the front exterior of the building; 3) replacing the guardrail at the front lot (that was destroyed by the falling trees last year). There are also a number of smaller areas that need addressing if possible (like bathrooms, paint, etc). In order to hold a congregational meeting, we have to communicate it at least twice and give the congregation a couple of weeks. We will have a bulleted list of the particular needs and the financial request before the meeting so that you will have ample time to review it in order to bring the appropriate questions and then vote.
***Members, please be on the lookout for an email regarding the Congregational Meeting***
Church Library Survey
Matt Quilitzsch is our church librarian and is doing an incredible job getting our system and books up to date. He is currently digitizing our book catalog and along the way, as he is redeveloping the collection, he has some questions he wants to ask in order to better serve the church.
Can you take a moment and fill out the survey for him? It will help Matt to work to develop services and materials that can help the church body grow in their faith.
