The Holiday Shop Is Coming Soon!
Mark your calendars!
The Holiday Shop is coming Wednesday, December 3rd - Tuesday, December 9th .
This is a time for your child to shop for family and friends and make memories doing so!
Each class will get a chance to shop during their Art Class. Be on the lookout for the money envelope that came home this week.
Gift prices range from .50 cents to $17.
The kids can view some items in the display case in the copy room window or you can check out the company's website: schoolgiftshops.com
Also, we always need your help! If you'd like to volunteer to help, please sign up by clicking here. The more helpers we have the better experience for the kids and the smoother the shop runs.

Holiday Food Drive
BES is excited to partner with Berthoud’s House of Neighborly Service for our annual Holiday Food Drive! This season, we’re collecting donations to support Berthoud-area families in need, helping ensure our neighbors have the food and essentials they need for a warm, nourishing holiday season.
We will be collecting donations Wednesday, December 3rd through Tuesday, December 9th. Students may bring items to their classrooms, where collection boxes will be available all week.
To add a little fun and excitement to this important community project, we’re hosting a school-wide classroom competition.
Each pantry or household item = 1 point
Each specialty holiday item = 2 points
The top three classrooms that collect the most points will receive a special prize—details to be revealed soon! Below you will see a list of items that are needed this season.
This is a great way for students to work together, show generosity, and build school spirit while supporting families in our area. Thank you for helping us spread kindness and support throughout our community this holiday season. Your generosity truly makes a difference!
Reminder Regarding BES's Cell Phone Policy
CELL PHONES and WRIST PHONES
We ask that all adults turn cell phones off/ silent when they enter the building, to prevent disruption to the learning environment. Additionally, students may not use cell or wrist phones at school. All electronics must be powered off and out of sight upon arrival, and until students have exited the building at the end of the school day. E-readers may be used FOR READING after completion of the school permission slip. The office will assist with necessary parent communication during the school day. Electronics and phones accessed without approval during the school day may be secured for the student until the end of the day by the teacher or the office. Please contact the school principal if you have any questions.
This policy can also be found in the 2025-2026 Student Handbook.
Norovirus Outbreak
BES is currently being monitored by the health department for an outbreak of NORO Virus. We are being extra vigilant about hand washing and cleaning of surfaces until we are cleared of the outbreak.
Due to the highly contagious nature of norovirus, please keep your student home if they are vomiting or have diarrhea. They should not return to school until 48 hours after their symptoms have stopped, even if they have just one episode of vomiting or diarrhea.
Thank you for helping to keep our BES community healthy!
