Malvern Families,

November is a special month at Malvern. It’s a time to pause, reflect, and give thanks. This week, hearts were full as we honored the brave men and women who have served our country. Students did an outstanding job creating beautiful artwork and participating in the Veterans Day assembly. Their effort and respect made it a meaningful celebration. Sincere appreciation is extended to those who allowed Malvern to honor them.

This month’s focus is Habit 3: Put First Things First, which helps students think about what matters most and set priorities that lead to success. The character trait of the month is gratitude, encouraging all Red Hawks to notice the good in others and show appreciation.

As a school family, Malvern is putting gratitude into action by collecting canned corn and green beans to support McKinney families in need. Every contribution makes a difference and helps students experience the meaning of community.

Wednesday, November 12th, families are also invited to join in for Scotty P’s Spirit Day, a fun way to show Red Hawk pride, enjoy great food, and support our school.

Proud to be a Red Hawk,

Inetra Nelson, Principal & Melinna Herrera, Assistant Principal

Inetra Nelson, Directora y Melinna Herrera, Subdirectora

Morning Drop-Off Reminder

Parents, if your child arrives before 7:40 a.m., please take a moment to remind them about staying safe while they wait for the building to open. We want every morning to start off safely and smoothly for all our students.

Children should stay near the front entry and avoid running, playing chase, or standing near the driveway. They should also keep their hands to themselves and be mindful of others around them.

Thank you for helping us create a calm and safe start to the day for everyone!

Visitors and Volunteers Visitors and Volunteers

  • MISD requires every visitor/volunteer to report to the office to sign in and receive a visitor badge. At the camera outside of the school, please state your name, show your ID, and explain why you are here at school.

  • A software system called “Hallpass School Visitor Management” is used to scan in visitors. A valid, unexpired state or government issued photo ID must be presented each time you visit, volunteer, or pick up a student. If you arrive on campus without your driver’s license, you will be asked to leave and return to campus when you have identification. A photocopy of your ID will not be accepted.

  • MISD requires that volunteers complete a criminal background check every school year. If you plan to volunteer anywhere in the building or chaperone a field trip, please complete the required volunteer application.

MISD will not offer a grace period this school year for you to complete your annual background check. All background checks must be completed and approved before you can serve on campus.
