Mustang Spotlight
Mrs. Sarah Jane Hess is in her second year with Strongsville City Schools. Last year, Mrs. Hess worked at Chapman Elementary as a substitute teacher and a substitute in the Special Education department. Building on her personal experiences of being a “class mom” and involved in her own children’s education, Mrs. Hess accepted a position this school year as a Special Education Aide at Kinsner Elementary.
“I was inspired by the amazing students and dedicated staff while working in substitute roles last year at Chapman Elementary. I knew I wanted to be in our schools every day working with students. I’m lucky to be part of a wonderful school community, and work with great teachers and staff at Kinsner Elementary. Being a Special Education Aide means that I am able to clear a path for inclusion. And when there is a path for inclusion, all students benefit!”
Thank you Mrs. Hess for your dedication and passion in helping students grow at Kinsner Elementary! #ModelMustang
Advocating for Change
In a remarkable display of leadership and community spirit, four dedicated 5th graders—Cora, Harmony, Christopher, and Arjun—met with Superintendent Dr. Ryba and Principal Mr. Marconi to advocate for a policy change at Kinsner Elementary. Their primary goal? To secure the installation of bike racks, with one proposed for the front of the school and another for the back.
Equipped with a well-prepared presentation, these young advocates outlined the pros and cons of having bike racks on campus. They recognized that while there are challenges to consider, such as safety and maintenance, they also presented thoughtful solutions to mitigate these concerns. Their insights demonstrated a mature understanding of the complexities involved in policy changes.
Interestingly, these students are on the brink of graduating to middle school, meaning they won’t personally benefit from the bike racks if the proposal is approved. However, when asked about this, they shared a profound perspective: their advocacy is about creating positive changes for future students at Kinsner. Their selflessness and forward-thinking approach exemplify the values we hope to instill in our young leaders.
The school administration is currently reviewing the proposal, and a decision will be made soon. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Cora, Harmony, Christopher, and Arjun for their commitment to improving the environment for incoming students. Their initiative not only highlights the importance of student voice in school policy but also sets a commendable example for others to follow. Together, they remind us that even the smallest advocates can make a significant impact on their community's future.
Thank You PTA and Families!
At Kinsner Elementary, we are fortunate to have a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) that goes above and beyond in supporting our teachers and staff. This past week, they orchestrated a "WICKLY" amazing appreciation experience that truly made a difference in our school community.
From the moment the week began, our teachers and staff were treated to delightful lunches on Monday and Friday, providing not just nourishment but also a sense of camaraderie and support. On Tuesday and Wednesday, they surprised everyone with tasty snacks, creating moments for relaxation and connection amid the busy school week. And to top it all off, Thursday brought smiles and joy with a refreshing ice cream treat!
In addition to all of this, our students and families provided the most heartwarming, kind cards and gifts. Your thoughtful words and efforts fueled our teachers for one last push through the month of May, reminding them of the profound impact they have on our students' lives.
The overwhelming feedback from our teachers and staff was one of gratitude and appreciation. Many expressed how loved and valued they felt thanks to the thoughtful efforts of our PTA and the warm gestures from families. It is initiatives like these that foster a positive and supportive environment, allowing our educators to focus on what they do best: inspiring and nurturing our students.
We extend our deepest thanks to the members of our PTA for their hard work, dedication, and creativity in organizing such a special week. A huge thank you to our families for your heartfelt support. Your contributions make Kinsner Elementary a better place for everyone. We are truly grateful for your efforts and look forward to more wonderful experiences in the future!

Senior Clap Out
On Wednesday, May 21st, at 2:30 PM, Kinsner Elementary will proudly host its 2nd Annual "Senior Clap Out," a heartwarming tradition honoring our graduating seniors. This special event allows former students of Kinsner to walk through the halls one last time, celebrating their journey before they embark on the next chapter of their lives beyond Strongsville City Schools.
As the seniors make their way through the school, they will be greeted with applause and cheers from current students, teachers, and staff, creating an atmosphere of pride and celebration. This moment not only acknowledges the accomplishments of our graduating seniors but also serves as an inspiration for our younger students, who look up to them as role models.
The "Senior Clap Out" is a meaningful way to reflect on the memories created within the walls of Kinsner Elementary, and it marks a significant transition for these young adults as they prepare to face the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
We wish all our Kinsner seniors the very best in their future endeavors. Whether they are heading off to college, entering the workforce, or exploring new paths, we believe they will achieve great things. Thank you for being a part of the Kinsner community, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact you will make in the world!
