How to transfer courses to the institution you are attending after High School
Below is a step by step process on how to transfer your credits.
1. Research the Receiving Institution's Transfer Policies
- Start by identifying the college or university you plan to attend.
- Visit their website and locate their admissions and transfer policies page.
- Understand their guidelines for accepting transfer credits, including any specific requirements or limitations.
2. Request and Submit Official Transcripts:
Both Framingham State University and MassBay Community College use Parchment Portal for ordering your transcript. You only need to create your account one time and add the institutions you want to order your transcript.
The MetroWest Early college program offers courses from both MassBay and Framingham State. If you are not sure you have taken FSU or/and MassBay classes, please contact Ms. Uyen Hong at CPCData@framingham.edu.
Note: if you took both FSU and MassBay courses, you will need to order a transcript separately for each institution.
- Students order official transcripts online for $3.50 each through Parchment, Mass Bay's online authorized transcript provider. Transcripts can be sent electronically or mailed in hard copy to the institution or individual your designate. Tracking capabilities are included in Parchment processing.

- They will compare your courses to their curriculum and determine which credits can be applied to your degree program/Major.
4. Consult with an Academic Advisor:
- Schedule a meeting with an academic advisor at the receiving institution to discuss your transfer credits and their applicability to your major.
