Burned out at Burning Man
We made it back from Burning Man. This year was unlike any other year we've been to. there was a lot of burnout for our Build and Strike team members. Work was harder, and more confusing than any year given that it had been three years since we built, rather than the typical one year we wait. Further, the weather was rough, with a 3 AM dust storm on Wednesday of build week doing major damage to our shade structure and our kitchen. We were majorly short-staffed for build and strike for a variety of reasons. Thank you to everyone who stepped up to make camp happen this year, particularly the build and strike teams!
Despite all of this there was a lot of playa magic that happened, with the steam bath, workshops and classes, kitchen and shade structures and all the rest that Camp Contact is known for! And, we have a group of dedicated campers who are coming together to reorganize camp and streamline processes leading up to 2023 at Burnining Man, please connect on our Slack if you're interested in this effort!
