News From Ms. Curley
Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!
This week we learned about snowflakes. We read a story showing us how snowflakes are made up of ice crystals that are all stuck together, and because of this no two snowflakes look alike. Afterwards we made our own snowflakes out of paper to hang in the school!

Traveling the World!
We had another great week in 1st and 2nd grade! We started our week with learning how to compare numbers and how to make numbers such as 8, 9, and 10. We also learned about different winter holidays – Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. We compared and contrasted the different holiday traditions and got to make and try latkes. Lastly, we ended our week with a fun Grinch Day!
This Just In from Ms. Parisi
Composites, Opinions, and Poetry
Ms. Parisi's class continued learning how to divide, and started learning about prime and composite numbers. They started writing opinion essays, and had class discussions about the poetry in Love That Dog.
A Word From Mr. Melle
This week our FES Sculptors modeled delightful containers, figures, and reliefs. They also continue to add drawings and paintings to our Wonderful Original Works galleries. It is inspiring to see them sharing ideas and enthusiasm while they work.
I look forward to continuing with our FES artists when I return for the week of February 3rd.
Thank you for supporting creativity!
