"Inspiring Every Student, Through Every Experience, Every Day!"
Dear Coloma Families,
Thank you to everyone who joined us at our Open House. It was nice seeing all the smiling faces and students back in the building.
The school building will. not be open until 7:30 am, there is no supervision before this time. Anyone arriving after 7:55 am will be marked tardy. FREE breakfast is served from 7:30-7:50 am. We encourage all students to eat breakfast!l
Parents will only be able to walk their child to their classroom on the first day of school. After the first day of school please say your goodbyes at the school entrance.
Dismissal will be staggered. The first students that will be dismissed will be those students riding the bus. They will be dismissed at 3:10. Walkers & Parent Pick up will be dismissed once the buses have left the building for safety reasons. If your child's end of day dismissal changes please contact the office to ensure we get the message to the teacher. We ask this is done before 2:15 pm to ensure all messages can be given to the teachers.
During the school day the teachers will be instructing your child. If you need to get a message to the teacher or speak to the teacher you can leave a message and they will get back to you within 24 hours. If it is a message that needs immediate attention, like change of end of day routine, please give that information to the secretaries and she will get it to the teacher.
Please see the below calendar of events specific to Coloma Elementary. Picture day is on September 30. All students will be taking a picture on this day. We love to see the students dressed up! Don't forget that EVERY 2nd Wednesday of each month is early release to allow the district to have staff training. Coloma Elementary will begin dismissal at 1:10PM. We do have an optional Aftercare Program if you would like to sign up your child please click here.

CES September Calendar
The Pioneer Way!
At all three elementary schools we have adopted The Pioneer Way Behavior Matrix. This is how we teach the students the expected behavior in the different areas around the building. These will include the hallways, cafeteria, playground, bus and the classrooms. The matrix allows all students and staff to know what is expected of them in each area.
Discipline will be administered when a student's actions interfere with the rights of teachers to teach, students to learn, or any situation where a student is harming another. Disciplinary actions vary depending upon the circumstances involved. One of our priorities is to develop the student's learning around appropriate behavior. The below image is to help guide the staff in determining a natural consequence for the behavior and make it a teachable moment. You will see the options based on the behavior and how many offenses the student has had. The bullets in each box are possible consequences for a student's behavior and does not mean all will happen in each situation. If you have any questions regarding this matrix please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
