Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
Hello Bulldog Families.
BHS students have not allowed the torrential rain on Tuesday to dampen their spirits, or their involvement in school activities! In this Friday’s newsletter, you will find photos of our students in our fall theatre/music production, attending another career exploration, and being recognized for their awesome contributions. We are fortunate to get to work with such talented and driven young people every day.
Please take a moment to look through the Upcoming Important Dates section. You will notice that we will be running a Flex A schedule on Wednesday, December 17th and a Flex B schedule on Thursday, December 18th. As December 18th is the last day in our quarter and in our first semester, some classes may be taking exams, completing projects, or participating in lab activities. Please note that these days are not “early release” days or “optional”. Students are expected to be in attendance. Since all CCP classes will be over, all of our CCP students should not need any adjustments to their schedules.
Our winter athletic teams should all be up and competing in the next few weeks! There are always opportunities to come watch them represent BHS, so look through the athletic department’s website to catch a few matches/games this winter!
This will be the final family newsletter of November as we are only in session for two days next week. Be on the lookout for the next edition of The BHS Express due out on Friday, December 5th. Of course, feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Have a wonderful weekend.
In service to our Bulldogs.

Hello Families,
A couple more days to go until our Thanksgiving break. The students are hanging in there, but I can definitely observe that a few days off will go a long way in helping our students maintain. Even with the weather this week the late arrivals and tardies were not all that bad. Please keep helping us get our students here on a daily basis and on time.
I had the opportunity to visit Live Oaks on Friday morning with all of our sophomores as they prepare for their junior year. It was also great to see some of our current junior/senior students who are at the Oaks at this time.
Thank you, and have a nice weekend.

The FAFSA Application opened October 1!!!!
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students entering or attending college for the 2026-27 academic year is up and running! Any student that is thinking about attending any type of education/training after high school should complete the FAFSA - technical school, trade school, community college, public university, or private university. The FAFSA is what determines your eligibility for student loans, grants, work-study, and scholarships - thus, it is VERY important that you complete and submit it. Keep in mind, all students are eligible for student loans! We will continue to share information and helpful resources with you and your family as we receive it!
The Ohio Department of Higher Education would like to share that the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available for all families to complete. Families who want to start filling out the FAFSA now can start the process at studentaid.gov.
For additional assistance with FAFSA completion, please visit itsforyou.org, and look under the “Looking for FAFSA Help?” section for more information
