A Note from Mrs. Stefanich
Hello Park Families,
Thank you to those of you that were able to attend our Parent Club Meeting this week! It was so great to see some new faces there. I always give a little Principal Update at our Parent Club meetings and it got me wondering if some families might appreciate learning more about the things happening in our school. Your children are great resources, but if they are anything like mine, they don't always give the most detail in their responses. If you would be interested in coming in to school to learn more about our new math curriculum, reading instruction, PBIS, or any other topics, would you take a minute to fill out this quick four question survey? You won't hurt my feelings if you aren't interested. We are all busy with our families and our teachers do an amazing job in their newsletters keeping you up to date on the learning that is happening in their rooms. But if there is something parents want to know more about, I'm happy to do my best to answer any questions we have.
Spark Joy This Weekend!
This weekend, I challenge you to find a way to Spark Joy for Others! Help your kids craft a card for a neighbor, invite some friends over for games, or BOO! a friend and leave a treat on their doorstep! Snap a picture of you and your family Sparking Joy for others, and post the Picture on our Park Facebook page post about Park Sparking Joy this weekend!
Morning Drop Off
Just a reminder that in order for our morning carline to run as efficiently as possible, please remember to pull all the way up before letting your child out of the car. Even if they are headed around the building to the West playground, its important to pull all the way up and have them walk a few extra steps. Also remember to do your hugs and kisses at home, and have the adults stay in the car. This helps everyone to have a smooth and quick process as they drop off their child in the morning. If you prefer to walk your child to the playground and do hugs at school, please park your car and walk them up so those in the carline can move quickly through. Thank you for your help in making drop off go smoothly in the mornings!

Growth Mindset Statement for October
I Can Do Hard Things!
This is a great growth mindset for home or school! In fact, I heard a parent say this to their child just today! I remind myself of this every time I have to make a difficult decision, when I feel overwhelmed, or when I want to model to my children that it's okay to take risks. Remember, discomfort is when growth happens, so don't be afraid to do hard things!
Notes from Music
Music at Park Elementary is beginning wonderfully this year. Recently we are focusing on how we can SOAR (Be Safe, Own It, Act Responsibly, Be Respectful) while acting kindly to others in and around our music making. We are well into Holiday music learning in preparation for our Park Holiday Program scheduled for Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Fellowship Reformed Church in Hudsonville. Please reserve the date. Click HERE for more detailed program information and to practice songs for the Holiday Program at home (This is Mr. Bouwman’s Website) Within the next two weeks we will begin auditions in class for solos, small ensembles, dancing groups, instrument playing, acting roles, and speaking parts. Through these auditions students realize their true potential, conquer their fears, and grow in self confidence of their musical ability.
4th graders have ordered and received their home recorders and need to have it with them at school each music day. Please let me know if you have any questions about recorders.
I am so thankful to be teaching your child music at Park Elementary this year!
Let me know if you have any questions.
