Principal's Message
Dear Oak Hill Families,
September is here, and it's wonderful to see our hallways, classrooms, and hearts full again. School is officially in full swing — routines are set, friendships are forming, and our students are settling into the rhythm of another great year.
As we move through the fall, I want to say how proud I am to be part of this school and the Tri Creek School Corporation as a whole. Our community continues to show up for kids in ways big and small, and that support is the foundation everything else is built on.
This year, our theme is Stay Excellent, Be Connected — and it's more than a slogan. It's how we approach every day. "Stay Excellent" reflects our commitment to academic achievement: high expectations, strong instruction, and a relentless focus on growth for every student. "Be Connected" reflects the belief that kids do their best learning when they feel like they belong — to their classroom, to their teachers, and to this school community. We're proud to be a place where both matter equally.
A Word on Attendance
One of the simplest and most powerful things families can do to support their child this year is help them get to school — every day, on time. Consistent attendance is one of the strongest predictors of student success, not just because of what's taught each day, but because of the relationships and routines students build by simply being here. If mornings are a struggle or something is getting in the way of regular attendance, please reach out to us. We're glad to work together on solutions.
Thank you for trusting us with your children. We're proud of this school, proud of this district, and proud to walk alongside each of your families this year.
Here's to a great September and an even better year ahead.
Warmly,
Patty Sparks
Principal

2026-2027 Parent and Student Frequently Asked Questions
📘 Parent Guidebook – Please Read!
Whether you're new to Oak Hill or have been part of the community for years, we ask that all families take a moment to read this year’s Parent Guidebook. It includes everything you need to know: arrival/dismissal procedures, behavior expectations, birthday treat policies, communication guidelines, and more. As your new principal, I want to ensure we’re all on the same page as we start the year strong together!
From Coach Q
In PE, safety is always first. This is why we ask all of our students to
come to class with appropriate footwear. Wearing the wrong shoes
can impact a student’s safety/success during activities. Shoes like
boots, sandals, slip-ons, even dress shoes can get in the way of
simple activities like running, jumping, and stopping. It is important
for students to wear proper footwear in order to participate safely in
class activities, and to be successful with those activities.
Okay for PE – Footwear must have a rubber bottom, provide ankle
support, cover the whole back/front of the foot and have an adjustable
strap, laces or Velcro. (Example: tennis shoes, basketball shoes, cross-
trainers, running shoes, etc.).
Not Okay for PE - Dress shoes (of any kind), boots, and sandals or open toed shoes

From the Counselor
Morning Meetings
This year all of our students will be participating in Morning Meetings every day. The goals of Morning Meetings are to build community within each classroom, provide opportunities for students to practice social skills, and reinforce academic concepts in an engaging way. During Morning Meetings students will learn how to take turns, stay on topic, speak in front of a group, respond to peers appropriately, and much more. This program has shown numerous benefits for students and we look forward to seeing its positive impact on our flock!
