Delco Dolphin Parent News
February Newsletter
Dear Delco Families,
Welcome to February! We hope everyone stayed safe and warm during the recent winter weather.
Important Update: Closed Campus Continued Due to the school closures caused by the ice last week, our testing schedule has shifted. To ensure a quiet and focused environment for our students to finish strong, we will remain a closed campus (no lunch visitors) until Feb 13th.
Testing Status:
Lower Grades: Have successfully finished their Middle of Year (MOY) testing!
Upper Grades: Still have remaining tests to complete due to the weather delays.
Because of these schedule changes, our focus on routines is more important than ever:
For Upper Grades (Testing Focus): Please help our older students finish their assessments strong by ensuring they get a full night's sleep and—most importantly—arrive on time. Late arrivals can disrupt the testing environment and cause students to miss their scheduled testing block.
For Lower Grades (Growth Focus): Even though testing is done, every minute counts! Arriving on time ensures our younger students don't miss critical morning instruction in reading and math. Let’s get back into the rhythm of school to help them grow from the data we just gathered!
You’re Invited: Academic Night! We are looking forward to opening our doors to you soon! Please join us to learn strategies to support your student at home.
When: Monday, March 10
Time: 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM
Where: Delco Elementary
Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we get back on track!
Estimadas familias de Delco:
¡Bienvenidos a febrero!

Attendance!!!!
We are writing to extend a heartfelt thank you for your incredible effort in getting your children to school on time each morning. Seeing our students arrive by 7:30 AM, settled and ready to learn, makes a tremendous difference in their day and in our entire school community.
When students are here on time, they have the chance to ease into the school day, greet their teachers and friends, and prepare their minds for learning. This smooth start prevents them from missing crucial opening instructions and the first few minutes of a lesson, which often set the stage for the day's activities.
Your partnership in prioritizing punctuality ensures that every child benefits from every possible minute of instructional time. It also helps instill a valuable life skill of responsibility and respect for schedules.
We know that mornings can be hectic, and we sincerely appreciate the commitment you make to start your child's day off right. Your dedication does not go unnoticed, and it is a vital part of your child's success.
Thank you for helping us make every moment count.
