Message from the Principals
Hello Families,
Spring has finally sprung! It is time to enjoy the great outdoors with the trees and flowers blooming. With the onset of spring end of the year events will be coming quickly. Please make sure to stay current on our calendar so you don't miss out.
Please make sure to take our survey below regarding our effectiveness as a school and district. We value your input!
We have our final Student Council meeting on Monday May 5th. We are so proud of the leadership displayed by this large group of students at South Row. Their contributions have served to improve our school community.
Kindness Matters Day is Monday May 5th and on the 7th we will host our Kindergarten Parent Orientation at 6pm to welcome our incoming families and introduce them to all of the wonderful things that South Row has to offer.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Respectfully,
Terri and Jayson =)

Family Survey - Please Complete!
Dear Chelmsford Families,
Our district values your feedback! We are currently surveying The Chelmsford Public Schools families in order to gain insight into your perception of our school and district's effectiveness. We also want to better understand barriers to families accessing our schools and programs. To ensure we continue to provide high quality, rigorous learning experiences that meet the needs of our learners and prepare them for college and career, we need your feedback. We want to know what you think.
To administer these surveys, we have partnered with Panorama Education to conduct our 2025 Family Survey as we did in 2023 and 2024 as well. Panorama safeguards your privacy, keeping your responses anonymous. The survey shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to complete and will be a valuable source of information for us as we work to make our schools and district as good as they can be.
You may complete the survey online between Thursday May 1st and Friday June 13th using a computer, tablet, or smartphone by visiting the website below: https://surveys.panoramaed.com/chelmsfordma/family25/surveys
If you have multiple CPS school-aged children, please feel free to fill out multiple surveys to represent each individual child’s experience. The first question on the survey will be a dropdown to select which school you are filling the survey out for.
We thank you in advance for your thoughtful responses. If you have any questions about the survey administration, please don’t hesitate to contact your building Principal.
Thank you in advance for your time.

Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week - 5/2-5/9
In addition to our amazing lunch the PTO provided, we have a few other fun activities planned throughout the week to acknowledge our staff.
On Monday, we will be "rolling out the red carpet" and our students will be cheering and giving high fives to our staff as a small token of their appreciation. If your child will like to make a poster at home for this event they are welcome to do so.
Also, all week we will have a "South Row Wall of Thanks" on display. Staff, community members, families, educators, and colleagues are invited to write a message on the wall showing their appreciation of member(s) of the South Row community. If your child would like to write a message, feel free to write a message at home, and send it to the main office and it will be added. If you are in the building, you are welcome to write a message on the wall as well!

Reminders and Updates
Restorative Practices Parent/Caregiver Presentation: Click on the links below to access the presentation recording and padlet link that has resources for families.
MCAS Dates: MCAS testing for grades 3 and 4 are as follows:
Math
- Grade 4 - May 12th and 13th
- Grade 3 - May 14th and 15th
Recurring Reminders:
- Smartphones and Smart Watches: We strongly discourage sending your child to school with smart phones or watches. If your child brings either of these devices to school the expectation is that they are turned off and in their backpack.
- Snacks: Please remember to send your child in with a snack. The school has a very limited supply that gets depleted quickly and it is not to every students liking.
PE Reminder: Please help your child to remember to bring sneakers when they have Phys Ed. Snow boots are great for recess, but unsafe for the gymnasium. Also on PE days, I would suggest students wear T-shirts or layers so they can take their long sleeve off when they get hot. Thank you!
IIQ Help Desk Tickets: Some families have been using an unmonitored email for support with accessing the Aspen Family Portal. Instead, please use the incident IQ request form located on the CPS website under the parent drop down menu. Nurses Corner
Dear South Row Families,
Spring has arrived! And so have allergies. If your student is experiencing allergy symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, and itchy/red eyes, here are some things that might help:
Have your child wash their hands and face and change their clothing after playing outside.
Keep the windows closed (if possible) to keep the allergens out of the house.
Talk to your child’s pediatrician about starting an over the counter allergy medication.
If your child has eye irritation, talk to their pediatrician about over the counter allergy eye drops.
Have your child shower before bed.
Apply cold compresses to irritation eyes
Apply warm compresses to the nose or face to relieve congestion. You can also try over the counter saline spray for nasal congestion.
Warmly,
Nurse V.
