New SMMS Principal Appointed
July 22, 2026
Dear Spring Mills Middle School Community:
Berkeley County Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Dirk Webb as the new principal of Spring Mills Middle School, marking his return to Berkeley County Schools.
Webb brings 15 years of experience in public education, including 12 years serving BCS. Throughout his career, he has worked at every programmatic level, providing him with a broad perspective on supporting students, educators, and families across a variety of educational settings.
"I am thrilled to join the Spring Mills Middle School community and partner with our students as they take ownership of their learning and realize their full potential," said Webb. "Together, we will foster a positive school community where every voice is valued and every student has the opportunity to succeed."
Holly Kleppner, Executive Director of Secondary School Leadership and Athletics, said Webb's return to BCS is an exciting opportunity for the district and the SMMS community.
"Dirk's extensive experience as an assistant principal has equipped him with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead a school successfully, said Kleppner. "I look forward to mentoring Dirk, supporting his growth, and watching him make a positive impact on students, staff, and the school community." she added.
Outside of school, Webb enjoys spending time outdoors, watching baseball, being on the water, and spending time with his family.
