Counselor's Corner
Technology High School
September 26, 2025
Last Friday of September!
“Stress acts as an accelerator: it will push you either forward or backward, but you choose which direction.”
―Chelsea Erieau
As our new month begins, you may start feeling/seeing the stress. The first quarter is wrapping up and students will see their progress reports, college applications are open and students will start feeling the pressure of their apps, and holidays are coming. With all that being said, let the stress push you forward, make to-do lists to help you get organized and set your priorities straight, know that you are not alone through these stressful times, and talk to teachers about time extensions or about how you are feeling.
The Spring 2026 application is now open for the Santa Rosa Junior College. If you plan on taking a JC class in the Spring, please fill out the application and dual enrollment form as soon as possible so you will be ready on December 2nd at 7am to register. The classes for Spring aren't out yet, however, so stay tuned for those in early November.
I am wrapping up my Senior Group Meets during advisory to check in with seniors to see how their postsecondary plans are coming along as well as show them how to use CaliforniaColleges.edu. I have also created a Google Classroom with resources and announcements...ask your students if they have joined yet.
My newsletters are to inform parents mostly, but there will also be information for students. Some information carries over each week, but always look for the new stuff.
I am very easy to get ahold of and respond pretty quickly. If you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, clarification, or concerns.
See below for friendly reminders: Important Dates, Mental Health Tips/Resources, SRJC information, Scholarship opportunities, and volunteer opportunities.
Let's get to 100%
Please fill out those Education Benefit Forms in PowerSchool please!!

UC Davis Resources
The representative that came to our college/career fair wanted me to pass along these resources to all the students:
- Our Find My Advisor tool allows students to see all of my recruitment events and also provides a way for them to contact me directly. I generally avoid giving out my direct email address to students; this FMA inbox allows me to filter inquiries separately.
- This is our digital viewbook for the year.
- Contact Undergraduate Admissions
- First-Year Admission
Students can view our upcoming webinars below; they’ll need to register for the event in order to receive the Zoom link to attend.

College App Worksheet
This comes from a THS Alumni and I would like to continue to share it as a college preparedness tool. There are 23 CSU's (California State Universities), 9 UC's (University of California), many private schools, a wonderful junior college, as well as tons more nationwide. Here is just a sample of what another student shared with me...copy it and make it your own with the schools of your choice.

Mental Health Tip!
Did you know?
Come talk to me about anything, I will talk you through things, listen, come up with strategies to deal with anxiety, etc, and/or send you to some more in depth support that we have on campus this year!
Spend some time with a furry friend. Time with animals lowers the stress hormone - cortisol, and boosts oxytocin - which stimulates feelings of happiness. If you don’t have a pet, hang out with a friend who does or volunteer at a shelter.
