Welcome to First Grade!

Hello Families!

Important Dates to Remember:

-Scholastic Book Fair- October 5-9th

-Teacher Workday- October 12th

-Parent/Teacher Conference- November 2nd

-George Washington's Mount Vernon Field Trip- November 6th

Reminders:

  • Now that the weather is getting colder, please make sure your child comes to school with a warm jacket. It can be very chilly when the children go outside to play. Please label your child's jacket with their first name or their initials. Thank you for helping keep everyone comfortable and healthy!
  • Please check with your child's teacher to find out when their class has library check out day. Please remind your child to return their library books, and always keep their library books in their back bag 😀
  • Please have your child bring a labeled water bottle daily. You can send the water bottle empty as we have a refilling station in the first grade hallway. Keeping water bottles in our classroom eliminates time spent out of the room at the water fountain.
  • Don't forget to have your child wear their tribal shirt or Occoquan spirit wear every Friday. Wearing tribal shirts will earn points for your child's tribe! *Bonus points for extra flair!*
