China Primary School - April 10th 2026
From the Office of the Principal
Hi CPS Families,
Next week we are looking at some mighty fine temperatures for our recess time. Our mornings will still be around 40 degrees and a lighter jacket or sweatshirt will be needed. During our lunch recess time, coats are optional starting next week. That 60 degrees is going to feel so nice!
Be on the lookout for our Bikes for Books reading slips. This will start Monday, April 27th and end on Friday, May 8th with an all school assembly on May 15th at 1:00 for the winners of a new bike! All materials will be sent home on Monday the 27th.
Our 3rd and 4th graders last night were STELLAR for the music concert on Thursday. So much appreciation is given to Teacher Bickford for yet another fantastic event along with the 3rd and 4th grade teams! Miss Belanger, Mrs. Boudreau, Mrs. Gledhill, Mrs. Jacobs, Mrs. Bentley, and Ms. Maxim, you are wonderful!

Attendance & Dismissal
If your student will be tardy, absent or dismissed early please update our administrative assistant, Mae Slevinsky by calling 207-445-1550 or emailing (mslevinsky@rsu18.org). It is helpful if emails are directed to your student's teacher as well.
If your student's dismissal plans are different than their regular routine you MUST communicate this to the front office/administrative assistant. Please be sure to communicate any changes for end of day dismissal plans prior to 2:00pm so students can be sure to receive their notes.
School Entry
For the safety of our students and staff we do not prop open any exterior doors at any time.

Please Be Prepared - Mud Season
While the cold weather hasn't quite gone away... mud season has made an appearance! Please continue to send your student with boots and jackets for outside recess. Students without boots will remain on the tar during recess time. On occasion, due to the condition of the playground, all students will remain on the tar.
All students are also encouraged to have an extra set of clothes in their backpack or stored in their classrooms. Accidents and spills happen, and extra clothing makes the rest of the day more comfortable!
From the Nurse
Cold and flu season is upon us. If your student experiences a fever over 100.4, vomiting or diarrhea they must stay home from school until they have been symptom free for 24 hours. Additional information around our illness policy can be found in the health handbook.
Please DO NOT send any medications including inhalers and epipens in with your child.
ALL medications must be brought to school by an adult and handed off to the nurse (or appropriate staff if the nurse is unavailable).
