Dear Underhill Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to a fantastic new school year! I hope your summer was filled with rest, fun, and wonderful memories with loved ones. As the principal, nothing brings me greater joy than seeing our hallways filled once again with the bright smiles and energy of our students.

We firmly believe that educating a child is a team effort. You are your child’s first and most important teacher, and your active presence in our school community makes all the difference. Whether you join the Hooksett Parent-Teacher Association, volunteer at events, or read with your child, your involvement creates an enriching environment where our students truly thrive.

At Underhill School, we strive to build a school culture rooted in kindness and mutual respect. We want every child, parent, and staff member to feel welcomed, heard, and valued the moment they step through our doors.

Please take a few moments to review the information below. Your child will be bringing home some forms for you to review and/or complete. Please return completed forms by September 18, 2026.

Lastly, thank you for your ongoing partnership and trust. By working together, we can make this year an exceptional experience for every student.

Sincerely,

Principal Loi

School Hours School Hours

School hours for students in Kindergarten through 2nd Grade is from 9:00 AM to 3:15 PM.

Teachers are on duty beginning at 8:40 AM each morning. Children should not be dropped off in the school building, or on the school grounds before 8:40 am. The gate to the parent-drop-off loop closes at 8:55 AM. Students are considered tardy if they arrive after 9:00 am. They need to be escorted to the main office by a parent to be checked in by office staff.

Students are expected to be in their classrooms by 9:00 AM and to remain in school until dismissal time, which is 3:15 PM.

Parent Pick Up ends at 3:30 PM. Bus dismissal occurs between 3:15 PM and 3:40 PM.

For children in the preschool program: The morning session for 3 year olds is from 9:15 AM to 11:30 AM. The afternoon session for 4 year olds is from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM.

Student Dismissal Student Dismissal

Students will not be dismissed to anyone except his/her parents/legal guardians or the people listed on the emergency form unless the school receives notification from the parent/guardian stating the name of the person and the relationship. Underhill School uses a software based dismissal program named “Pick Up Patrol”, which allows parents/guardians the ability to change or update their child’s dismissal via email or smartphone. For safety and security reasons, children leaving school other than at assigned times, leaving early, or by assigned transportation must be dismissed from the office. All changes made through Pick Up Patrol must be done by 2:15pm.

Parking Parking

Our parking lot has been designed to route traffic entering and leaving the school parking lots. Please park in the designated Visitor’s Parking Lot on the far side of the school next to the gym Please do not park in the smaller parking lot adjacent to Sherwood Drive between 7:30-9:30 AM and 2:00-4:00 PM. That area is used as overflow for Parent/Drop-off and Pick-up. You will get blocked in by other vehicles. The Parent Pick-Up and Drop-Off route goes through this parking lot.

Do not park in the horseshoe in front of the school. This area is designated for buses, emergency vehicles, and preschool drop-off and pick-up.

Please drive carefully and follow the traffic pattern.
