Cougar News

We had a great week! Students who earned the PTO field trip enjoyed the Kids Commons and playground on Tuesday! Our 5th and 6th grade band, choir, and show choir performed Tuesday evening with a great concert. We ended the week with the Ugly Sweater Christmas dance for students in grades 3-6!

Congratulations to Kathy Taylor, an instructional assistant who has worked at South Decatur Elementary for 47 years! Congratulations to Kaitlin Harrell, our music teacher who brings positive energy and is a great role model for our students. Both received the extra effort award at Wednesday night's board meeting!

Next week will be the last week of the first semester! It will be filled with activities, songs, and SANTA! Students will have the opportunity to see Santa on Monday thanks to our PTO! We will also have various dress up days next week. We will be posting all of the fun on facebook throughout the week.

I'm so proud of the work our staff and students do every day.

Please stay safe and WARM this weekend!

We will see you Monday!
