The Spartan Family Scoop
June 18th, 2026
Message From Principal Jones
Dear Olympia Families,
This will be the final Spartan Family Scoop of the school year, and will be my final newsletter as Principal of Olympia.
Being the Principal of Olympia these past three years has been extremely rewarding. Getting to know and interact with your children everyday has brought immense joy to my life. To hear their stories, to discuss their hopes and dreams, and to see their excitement when they accomplished something significant has been the best part of the job and the thing I will carry with me into my next professional chapter. Your children are special, and I truly believe they will change the world for the better.
And to you, parents and guardians, thank you! Thank you for the support you have provided over the years. Thank you for your faith and trust you gifted to me. I was able to lead in large part because of that faith.
As Olympia moves into its next chapter of Principal leadership, I am confident that the work we have done to create a safe and welcoming environment that is hyper focused on teaching and learning will only continue to grow. I truly believe that Olympia is in its prime. I am excited to see how Olympia continues to blossom.
I hope you all have an incredible summer!
Thank you,
Principal Jones
Your Proud Principal

Great Things Happen At Olympia!
NY Inspires Informational Video
We are exploring the idea of adding a required leadership course that provides direct instruction on life skills - including creative innovation, effective communication, critical thinking, and reflection - all of which are part of the NYS Portrait of a Graduate. The Portrait is part of the broader NY Inspires graduation measures initiative, which examines how our graduation requirements can better prepare students for life beyond high school. As we consider these changes, we want to ensure any new course truly supports our students and minimizes disruption to what already works well. Your feedback will directly inform how this proposal fits within our larger NY Inspires vision. To help you understand this initiative, our students prepared a NY Inspires informational video, which will give you a big picture overview of the initiative and an opportunity to provide feedback for us to consider.
Please take a few minutes to share your thoughts in the Google Form and embedded ThoughtExchange (question #4). Your perspective is essential in helping us shape a thoughtful and balanced path to graduation for all students. There is a QR code at the end to access the feedback forms. There is also a direct link to the feedback form. Please note that the form contains an embedded link to a ThoughtExchange, so please be sure to complete both forms.
