Family Traditions Project
We are learning about the importance of family customs and traditions in Social Studies. We have started discussing some traditions they have at home with their families. Please discuss with your child the different family traditions you do throughout the year. It does not have to be associated with a holiday but can be. Find a picture of your family representing the tradition you choose, and the parent will print neatly or type a description of the tradition. Please cut out the large rectangle, and glue the picture to the smaller rectangle that’s inside the larger one. Make sure to put your child’s name on it. We will be sharing these during Social Studies on Monday and Tuesday. You are welcome to decorate the “frame” if you would like to, but it is optional. We will be comparing and discussing the different family traditions. Thank you for helping make our Social Studies unit hands-on and fun!
Thank you,
The Kindergarten Team
Candyland Village 🍭
Hello amazing Kinder parents! On Wednesday, December 17th at 9am, the kindergarten team will host their Candyland Village activity. This is a very special event where kindergarten parents join their child in creating a gingerbread house. To make this event possible we need your help!
First and foremost, we need YOU to attend with your child, to make this extra special. The goal is to have at least one adult present for each child. Please fill out the fast pass link by 12/10!
Next, we need your help filling up our sign-up genius to donate the materials.
Here is a spreadsheet with links for ordering. Please feel free to shop for materials at any location, these are just suggested links, if you want to order online. Please send in materials ASAP, so we can be certain we have enough of everything. All materials due no later than Friday, 12/5.
Thank you in advance for making this event possible!!

Reminders
Absences - Please make sure that that you are logging all absences into Skyward. If you have a doctor note, please email to windsong-attendance@prosper-isd.net
Please bring your student car tag to dismissal.
Headphones: Send headphones with your child’s name on them please.
HOMEROOM APP: Please download this app CODE will differ per teacher.
Please put a change of clothing in your child’s backpack.
Please pack snack separate from lunch and make sure your child knows as well.
Dismissal changes - If you need to change your child's dismissal for the day (how they typically go home), you need to notify the office before 1:30 pm. Please do not solely email their teacher as they may not see the email until after dismissal. Additionally, if you have an older student as well, the office needs to be aware of the dismissal change for both. We can not rely on the older sibling to let them know. This is for the safety of all the kiddos. Thank you!
Also don't forget to
- Dress appropriately for the weather
- Pack a dry snack that isn't messy
- Send a water bottle with your child (no other liquids in the classroom)
- Students should wear sneakers to be able to participate in PE
- Bring a sweater to class in case it's cold
- LABEL water, lunch, and sweaters/jackets
