Coyote Connection

Dear Families,

This week was filled with a lot of fun activities as students geared up for our Bubble Run on Thursday. In addition to pajama days, movies and popcorn events, and extra recesses throughout the week, we also enjoyed our first school-wide prize on Monday afternoon! Students got to enjoy an ice cream while watching sixteen of our staff play a competitive game of water balloon dodgeball. There was a lot of laughter and cheering throughout the entire game!

Our Bubble Run yesterday was so much fun! The weather was perfect, and students put forth their best effort during their assigned time. There was even a guest appearance from our beloved mascot, RC! As a school, we have raised over $58,000. I am so impressed with how hard this community has worked to raise money for our school. Donations will still be accepted through Sunday evening, and our final assembly awarding individual and class prizes will take place on Friday. Since we hit our school-wide goal, the students will get to choose my clothing and mode of transportation for an entire day!

A huge thank you to Jason and Karin Wright, our PTA members, and all the volunteers who helped make this event a huge success! We definitely couldn't have done it without you.

Please mark your calendars for two exciting events still happening this month!

Our Boo Bash will be held next Friday, October 24th from 5pm-7pm. This event will feature games, crafts, food, live music from DJ Grizz, a jump house, and, of course, candy. Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered to help at this event. We are still in need of a few more volunteers to run games during the event. If you are interested in helping, please fill out this volunteer form so we can finalize the schedule. Also, in order to make this event a success, we need lots of candy! If you are unable to volunteer your time, please consider donating a bag of candy for the games and activities. Please turn in all bags of candy to the front office.

Save the Date for our school Halloween Parade! This event will be on Friday, October 31st, at 8:30. Students will have the opportunity to come to school in their costumes and parade around the blacktop with their class. Parents are welcome to join in on the fun. More information will be sent home in the next few weeks.

Our Fall Scholastic Book Fair is just around the corner and you won't want to miss it!

You'll be receiving more information in the upcoming weeks, but here is the overview of the schedule. Most classes will be attending the book fair during their library time. Your classroom teacher will send out more information regarding the specific date and time. Here is the Fall 2025 Schedule.

We will be open to students with a supervising adult each day before and after school (except Friday).

A family event! Students can visit with Grandparents, Aunts & Uncles, Neighbors or Caregivers Thursday 11/6 after early release until 2:30pm. We will have table activities (wordsearch, coloring, scavenger hunt) in the main library, book fair shelves stocked, and of course, donut holes! Please invite an additional adult to shop with your students, if you plan to volunteer for this fun event.

Our new Spirit Wear website is now live, featuring new shirt designs and colors! A huge thank you to one of our parents, Michele Le, for getting this up and running for us. On the order form, click on the picture of the shirt to see all the other designs and colors that are offered. Shirts will be delivered to your child's classroom.

The window for requesting GATE testing is closed. Our school team will review requests and determine which students will be eligible for screening in November. For more information, please visit our district website or stop by the office.

GATE testing will occur in November. Parents will be notified of the date as we approach the assigned time.

Our next Lunch and Learn will be for TK families on Tuesday, October 21st. Mrs. Parker, our school librarian technician, will be presenting on ways to support your child's literacy development at home!

Here are all the dates for each grade level's lunch and learn:

1/27/2026 - Kindergarten 10:20-11:30

2/24/2026 - Fourth Grade 11:10-12:20

3/3/2026 - Second Grade 11:40-12:50

3/31/2026 - Third Grade 11:40-12:50

4/5/2026 - Fifth Grade 11:10-12:50

The parent presentations will all be in the MPR 30 minutes before your child's scheduled lunch time. After the presentation, families will be invited to enjoy lunch in the courtyard with their child. Grade-level flyers will be sent home closer to each event.

As the bilingual Family Liaison, we create many opportunities for our Spanish speaking families. We will be hosting the Latino Literacy Project in partnership with North Broadway Ranch, click here for more information. Additionally, we want to form an ELAC (English Language Advisory Committee) at Reidy Creek.
