AMS Weekly Update

Happy Thursday, AMS! Thank you for another great week! Please remember to complete registration for your student for the 2025-2026 school year. Also, don't forget to pay your device protection plan for next year so that your student can keep his or her Chromebook for the summer! Note for 8th Graders: if you have paid for your device protection plan, your student will receive his or her 9th Grade device!

As a reminder, we have streamlined absence reporting for all of our campuses for this school year. It is very important that we have documented reasons for absences so that we can ensure your student is given an excused absence when needed.

Each week we compete as grade levels for the highest weekly attendance rate! We also set goals to be better each year. Here are weekly totals and our Cycle 4 Goal!

If you are playing football or will be in athletics you are allowed to purchase and wear these shirts in the fall for workouts and or underneath your football pads during games. The store closes April 22nd the shirts will be delivered here to AMS and will be handed out by the coaching staff.

Bearcat Nation, registration for the 2025 - 2026 academic school year is nearly here! Registration for new and returning students opens on Monday, April 7, 2025. Save the date and be prepared. Aledo ISD Community: You may have seen that other local school districts are having job fairs to try to fill special education teacher aide vacancies. In Aledo, we are also actively recruiting special education teacher aides to become a part of our Bearcat Staff!

Benefits to being a teacher aide in Aledo ISD include:

· Teacher aides are eligible to transfer their own children into Aledo ISD to attend our schools, even if they don’t live in the Aledo ISD boundaries.

· Teacher aides are eligible to send their babies and young children to the Aledo ISD Child Development Center employee daycare.

· Teacher aides follow the same school calendar as their kids/students in Aledo ISD.

· Teacher aides who are hired to work in a special education centralized program will receive a $600 sign-on bonus [when hired between September 20, 2024, and March 7, 2025, after completing 45 days of employment and maintaining an attendance rate of 90%].

· No experience required - we will train you!

· Want to become a certified teacher? We will work with you on your path to teacher certification.

In the event that you need to deliver lunch to your student, please follow the steps below:

1. Please remember that you may only provide lunch for your student. No group lunches (pizzas, party packs, etc.) allowed!
2. Please be sure that the lunch is clearly labeled with your student's first and last name.
3. Upon entering AMS, please place your student's lunch in the bin assigned to your student's grade level lunch.
4. The bins will be delivered at the start of each lunch period. Students will be responsible for getting their lunches from the bin.

Again, we request that you limit lunch deliveries when possible. Also, in order to limit distractions, we will not call students out of class to receive lunches.
