Hoyle School Happenings

Hello Hoyle Families and welcome back to school! We can not wait to see all the smiling faces as our students embark on a new school year!

Families will be receiving this newsletter every Friday throughout the school year. Here you will find the latest happenings, pertinent information, pictures, and communication about our school. You can also find all the Hoyle Happenings posted to the "Mrs. Dietz's Notes" section of the Hoyle School website.

As the new principal here at the Hoyle School, I know that I have some big shoes to fill but I am looking forward to hitting the ground running and doing my best for each and every person in the Hoyle community. • First Day of School grades 1 & 2: Wednesday, September 2nd
• Kindergarten Orientation: Thursday, September 3rd @ 10:00am
• First Day of School Kindergarten: Friday, September 4th
• No School (Labor Day): Monday, September 7th
• Preschool Orientation: Wednesday, September 9th 10:00am AM Sessions / 1:30pm PM sessions
• First Day of School Preschool: Thursday, September 10th

If you are picking up or dropping off your student it is imperative for safety reasons that you follow the one was traffic pattern.

* When picking up your child at dismissal please adhere to the times that your grade level is asked to lineup in the driveway around the school.

* Please do not park in the circle. This is for buses and school vans only!

* We do not carry pick up permission notes from one year to the next. Please alert us if someone other than yourself will be picking up your child this year.

* Please email us at hoyledismissal@swanseaschools.org with information regarding picking up your student and to get on the pick up sheet that we use daily to verify pick up.

Mrs. Stolts, our school nurse, will be available on to kindergarten and preschool families during their respective open houses on September 3rd and 9th.

PTO Meeting: Thursday, September 10th @ 6:00pm (Hoyle Library) - ALL ARE WELCOME!

PTO Heart Healthy Walk-A-Thon: Tuesday, September 29th (during school hours) - stay tuned for more information on this fun (non-fundraiser) event to celebrate keeping our Heart's Healthy

Trunk or Treat: Friday, October 23 @ 6-8 pm (Hoyle parking lot)

PTO Ice Cream Social: Thursday, October 29th (during school hours)

Are you interested in volunteering at the Hoyle School? We have lots of opportunities to volunteer including library help, PTO events and Field Trip Chaperones. Please review our safety information for volunteer requirements.

The Hoyle School Council is looking for two parents to join us! Members of the council advise the principal on the needs of the school. Parent representatives serve as the parent voice on the council which is made of a variety of stakeholders within the school. The commitment is one meeting a month, typically on the first Thursday 4-5 pm. If you are interested in this opportunity or would like more information, please email Mrs. Dietz directly at laura.dietz@swanseaschools.org.

*If more than two parent express interest, an election will be held.

We have many wonderful resources to help you stay connected and get information.

1. Our Hoyle School Website has all sorts of information on all sorts of topics.
2. Check our new Hoyle School Resource Page - in this document, I will update important dates, links, etc. throughout the year. This is great one stop shop for most of the things you need to access quickly. This will always be part of my email signature for easy access.

I am very excited to welcome School Resource Officer Kyle Gaspar and School Resource Officer Christopher Ball to the Swansea team. Both SROs will have a presence in all the schools however, we are more likely to see SRO Gaspar supporting at the Hoyle School. Welcome aboard Officer Gaspar!

It is my honor to welcome Ms. Jenna Gross "Miss G" to the Hoyle team as our School Adjustment Counselor. Miss G was selected from a pool of highly qualified applicants and has proved to be just what the Hoyle School needs, she is a true champion for students and partner for families. I am very excited for the students and families to meet Miss G and get started on our work together!
