MCP3 Staff News
Week of 10/19/26
Peterson's Message- K3 Director
Greetings MCP3 Team!
It is hard to believe that this is the last week of Quarter 1! Be sure to take some time this week to reflect on how far your class has come. Intentional reflection is known to enhance teaching effectiveness, boosts our self-awareness, prevents burnout, and supports the continuous improvement with both personal growth and scholars' learning outcomes.
Here is a simple 3-step approach to help you reflect on Quarter 1 and reset for Q2:
1. The Look Back (Assess)- Review your data and daily experiences to see what actually happened.
- Evaluate RAPS: Assess your classroom management. Which transitions are smooth, and which ones consistently fall apart? What RAP have become habituated by your scholars? Which scholar in your room no longer cries at drop off? How many scholars are able to tell you what is coming up next in the schedule? Then make you take a moment to pat yourself on your back for the guidance, consistency, and support you have given for your scholars to find such success and make the growth! Way to go!
- Audit your time: Reflect on your lesson plans. Did you regularly run out of time, or did activites move too quickly? Do you feel prepared weekly and daily for lessons and flow of the day?
2. The Lean In (Analyze)- Dig into the "why" behind the successes and the challenges.
- Identify your wins: Pinpoint the top two things that went exceptionally well. Did a specific seating arrangement cut down on talking? Did a new morning meeting routine build strong community?
- Deconstruct the challenges: For the things that did not go so well, look for root causes. Was a lesson too difficult, or were the behavioral expectations unclear to the students?
- Check your energy: Reflect on your own well-being. At what points in the quarter did you feel most exhausted, and what boundaries do you need to protect moving forward?
3. The Leap Forward (Adjust)-Turn your insights into a concrete, manageable action plan for Q2.
- Pick one micro-change: Avoid trying to overhaul everything. Choose one small, impactful adjustment to make next week (e.g., rewriting a single transition routine or changing your small-group RAP)
- Reset expectations with students: Dedicate the first few days of the new quarter to explicitly re-teaching a procedure that struggled in Quarter 1.
- Schedule your next check-in: Block out 15 minutes on your calendar four weeks from now to see if your adjustments are working.
- Share your Action Plan with an accountability partner.

Let's Play BALLLLLL!!!!!!!
This month, we will be celebrating attendance with a special fun baseball theme!
- Daily attendance will be our "innings" and will be tracked with a visual in the main foyer.
- Daily homeroom average attendance will correlate to the number of "hits" your class earns as follows (80%=8 hits, 90%=9 hits, 100%= 10 hits).
- Daily "hits" will be totaled each week to make your classroom team's score!
- The class with the highest score at the end of the month will be our World Series Champions!
I can't wait to see the hype and energy and the number of "hits" our teams will score this month!
After the first week we have a 4 way tie with 9 hits!!!!!

MCP3 is blessed to get to participate in the AT&T Pioneers Holiday Dreams Program again this year! This is a volunteer initiative run by The Pioneers, AT&T's Employee Resource Group and it has been bringing joy to children for 30 years through partnerships with organization in Milwaukee, Madison, Brookfield, and other cities in Wisconsin. The aim of Holiday Dreams isi to bring smiles to children during the holiday season. Each scholar will receive a gift!
This week, Ms. Perine will be sharing a scholar "wishlist" with you to complete and return to her. Be on the lookout for this!

ClassDojo
We want to ensure we have 100% of families connected on Dojo! Here is where we are currently at:
- Panthers- 95%
- Tigers- 100%
- Antelopes- 100%
- Bulldogs- 100%
- Golden Eagles- 100%
**Be sure to edit your class if you have scholars that are unenrolled and add students to your class when you get new scholars!
**Friday means it is time for your classroom dojo incentive! Scholars should be rewarded for their good behavior from the week. Remember- not everybody gets a cookie. So if scholars have not earned the prizes/incentives that's ok. They can try again next week. Be specific with which classroom expectation and rule they need to work on. If you need support with setting up your classroom dojo incentive please reach out!
Field Trips🚌
All classes will be taking their Quarter 1 Field Trips next week.
- Wednesday 10/21 121 & 122: Kids in Motion 9:00-1:00. Staff and scholars must wear their uniform tops but can wear jeans (or other comfy bottoms).
- Thursday 10/22 123-125: We Rock the Spectrum 9:00-11:30. Staff and Scholars may wear Pink/Jeans.
Here are some details and preparation to-do items to ensure all trips go smoothly.
- Teachers should have multiple conversations with their classes about Field Trip and Bus expectations on the days leading up to the trips. If you need additional support for these conversations please reach out to Ms. Miller to share her resources with you.
- All scholars should use the bathroom prior to leaving.
- Ms. Perine will message you when the bus arrives then you can have your class line up and exit out.
- There will be Field Trip bags that will include important supplies (extra uniform, gloves, wipes, etc.)
- Teachers need to make a copy of their attendance sheets to take with them as well as their authorized pick up list. Leave the original attendance sheets in your classrooms.
- Snack will be prepped for you to take and lunches will be prepped for 121-122.
- Staff must take a count of their scholars once on the bus and text the group that number to ensure the same number of scholars matches the entire trip and when they return.
**Ms. Griffin will be the point person for trips as she will be attending both. She will be asking all teachers for their final count before departure.**
