Hello all.

April is here!

Below is a tip sheet for parents on helping your children make friends, a really helpful article on child anxiety, activities locally, song and video. Please take a look at the Parent Toolkit site that was posted recently to help parents "navigate your child's personal journey from kindergarten through highschool." It looks like a good go-to site. Also, some activities for kids of all ages at the public libraries.

Enjoy the flowers popping up!

The Parent Toolkit is a one-stop resource!

Studies show children whose parents are involved in their education do better in school, and our hope is to provide you with useful tips and tools to support your growing child at all ages. The Parent Toolkit is a one-stop shop resource that was produced and developed with parents in mind.

The Toolkit focuses on many aspects of your child’s development, because it is all connected. Healthy, successful children can excel in many areas – in the classroom, on the court, and in their relationships with peers and adults. We have worked with experts across the country including classroom teachers, college professors, pediatricians, dieticians, psychologists, and parents, to make the resource as robust and useful as possible.

these books will help children understand a little more about a friend, classmate or family member with mental health problems

Statistics indicate that one in five students is impacted by mental health issues. These books feature children and adults who suffer from mental distress, anxiety, addictions, and other mental health illnesses that affect their relationships and ability to cope in the world. Hopefully these titles will help children understand a little more about a friend, classmate or family member with mental health problems. – Maria Martella http://tinlids.ca/resources/mhealth.pdf
