First, we expect students from PJJ to have excellent behavior and participate in the Homecoming activities to their fullest potential. Students are expected to follow all PJJ supervisors expectations and directions. This includes traveling to and from PJJ to Goerke Field as a group and then sitting together when you arrive with other PJJ students. Failure to meet these expectations may result in PJJ students being denied other field trips and special events, plus the potential for disciplinary action.
Remember, if weather is inclement, participation at this event may be canceled. This decision will be made at 10:00 a.m. on October 9, 2026.

Damaging Lockers
Parents/Guardians,
Please help us to remind your student(s) that any damage to school property, including lockers, could result in fines or additional afterschool consequences. Locks have been found to be stuffed with paper to prevent them from latching (see image below). This poses a security risk for students if they are not keeping their items secure and takes away time from our custodians as they work to fix broken locks. Thank you.

Notification System Test Coming Soon
As we prepare for winter weather, the Stevens Point Area Public School District will conduct a test of our family notification system on October 19 at 4:00 p.m.
Families should receive the test by email, phone and text based on the contact information and preferences currently on file.
If you do not receive the test on all of your preferred devices, please log in to Skyward Family Access to review and update your contact information or contact your school office for assistance.
Testing the system now helps ensure you receive important information when weather or other circumstances affect the school day.
Thanks for helping us make sure everyone stays connected!
Next Week's Learning Center Lesson
Next week's Learning Center Lesson will focus on defining bullying and learning actionable ways to respond to bullying behavior when it happens.
At P.J. Jacobs Junior High, creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for every student is our top priority. Throughout October, our students and staff will engage in activities and discussions focused on kindness, inclusion, and recognizing the warning signs of bullying—both in person and online.
Bullying is defined as repeated, unwanted aggressive behavior that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. We encourage families to talk with their children at home about respect, standing up for peers, and reaching out to a trusted adult whenever they see or experience bullying. Some of the discussions will be driving by lessons available in Character Strong. Participation in Bullying Prevention Month lessons and classroom activities is part of our standard curriculum. If you prefer to opt your child out of these specific supplemental activities, please submit a written request to the main office or email jknecht@pointschools.net by Monday October 5, 2026.
