Help us shape your child’s future roadmap!
In middle school, students begin to discover their unique strengths and interests. To support this growth, we use Career Development Plans (CDPs)—a roadmap that helps students connect what they learn in the classroom to their future possibilities.
Whether your child dreams of being an engineer, an artist, or isn’t quite sure yet, we want to ensure you feel like a partner in this process.
Could you spare 3 minutes? We’ve put together a brief survey to better understand your familiarity with these plans and how we can best support your family. Your feedback will directly influence the resources and workshops we provide this coming year.

Our goal isn't to have students "pick a job" today, but to give them the confidence and direction they need as they head toward high school.
Thank you for your time and for everything you do to support your child's journey!
DC Trip Reminder
If you have been making monthly payments towards your child’s DC Trip, your final payment of $70 is due on Wednesday, March 4. Please be sure the payment is on time to be sure your child keeps their spot on the trip!
Pie A Teacher Fundraiser...Coming Soon!
Would your child like to PIE a teacher? Now's your child's chance!
PTO "Pie A Teacher" Fundraiser:
- March 9 - 13
- Vote for the teacher or staff you want to get PIED
- $1 per vote
- Voting takes places in the main lobby before school
Cast votes, have fun and help raise funds for NBMS!
Students with Discretionary Admission (DAR)
This is a reminder to parents of students with a DAR (Discretionary Admission Release).
Please note that the DAR application window opened on February 15th. Because Infinite Campus automatically enrolls students in their zoned school for the upcoming year, it is essential that continued-placement DARs are processed promptly so those students are correctly attached to their current school in the system. The earlier these continued-placement DARs are completed, the smoother the transition will be.

BCS STEAM Day
This Week in Athletics
Our Baseball, Softball, Girls Soccer, and Track teams have kicked off their seasons and are already hard at work in practices. We are so proud of the dedication, teamwork, and school spirit our student-athletes are showing as they represent our school.
We’re also excited to share that we will be hiring a Golf Coach next week, so stay tuned for more information about the launch of our Golf program! Once the coach is in place, we hope to hold an interest meeting next week for any students who are interested in being part of the Golf team.
It’s a great time to be involved in athletics, and we look forward to a strong and successful spring season across all of our programs. Go Black Hawks!
