The Principal's Office

Isn't it nice that the weather has finally cooled off? It is nice to walk outside and finally enjoy being cool.

It is also a great feeling hearing the Basketball bounce off the wood floor. There is nothing like that sound to me. It brings back many great memories, and I can't wait to see how great of a season both our Owls and Lady Owls have.

Over the next few weeks, YHS & YMS will be very busy with Basketball, Thanksgiving Break, and closing out the first semester.

As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Congratulations to AJ Nixon for being selected as one of our "Owls of the Week." AJ's teachers said he "enters the classroom with a positive attitude and ready to learn each day."

Awesome job, AJ!!!

Congratulations to Madison Wisdom for being selected as an "Owl of the Week." Her teachers reported that she is very nice, and is "Always so willing and wanting to do her best!"

Congratulations to our Lady Owls Volleyball team for forcing a play in game for the playoffs. Our girls played very hard throughout the season. They demonstrated grit, perseverance, and we look forward to next year's team.

Congratulations to our Senior Volleyball Players, Hope Madison & Peyton Wallace, for signing our Yantis High School Senior Athlete Y Wall.

Basketball season has started at YISD. Below are our schedules. I can't wait to see how the season unfolds for our Owls!

A new law passed over the summer regarding Vapes. The new law states that any student caught with a vape device with or within 300 feet of a school or school event must be placed in DAEP.

Kona Ice will be at YISD again on November 8.

The Travelin' Tom's Coffee Truck will be at YISD on 11/14.

Thank you to everyone that came to our first Senior Parent Meeting! We hope you found everything beneficial and informative. TJC is a great school to begin a college career for a variety of reasons.

Earlier that day, we had representatives from Texas A&M University - Commerce come out and speak with our Seniors. The representatives spoke about the Honors College program and let the Seniors know about the advantages TAMU-C has over other universities.

first-time resident undergraduate students.

The University has determined that it will automatically admit all eligible summer/fall 2025 and

spring 2026 freshman applicants who rank within the top 6% of their high school graduating

classes. A letter from University President Jay C. Hartzell is attached to this correspondence.

This information should be shared with all high school junior-level students and their parents.
