The first week of March is already behind us and now we “Spring Forward”. Don’t forget to reset your clocks this weekend!

I want to extend gratitude to our PAWS group and all the parents who attended the parent forum after Friday Flag–I gathered great feedback and ideas to bring to our site leadership team to make our school culture and experience even better! I look forward to all the spring activities that are in the works for our school community. This is a great time to get involved and support the activities happening around Pomerado. We also are in need of parent volunteers to join our PAWS team for the new school year. If you are interested in learning more about this group, or want to volunteer in any way, please send a message to PomeradoPAWS@gmail.com.

We are also very excited to launch our parent workshop series with our Spanish speaking parents on March 11, where we will explore topics such as resiliency and connectedness. The 6 week series will be held in Spanish in room 29 from 8:15-9:15.

Please mark your calendar for a 1pm dismissal on Tuesday 3/10. The early release allows our staff to learn together in professional development. We appreciate your support of this important professional time for our staff!

A big thank you to everyone who helped make our Read Across America celebration such a success! Because of the generous book donations from our community, every student was able to receive a new or gently used book to take home. We are also so grateful to our wonderful guest readers who shared their time and love of reading with our students.

It’s never too early to start planning for next year! If you come across books you’d like to donate, you can drop them off in the office in the red tub. Thank you for helping us keep the joy of reading growing at Pomerado!

Pomerado Elementary proudly participated in the Stars of Honor Program for the very first time! Teachers in grades K–5 selected five students from each classroom who consistently demonstrate strong character, perseverance, effort, and a positive attitude toward learning.

Congratulations to our Wildcats who were recognized for being shining examples in our school community. We are so proud of you!

Hey there Wildcat Families!

April is autism awareness month and Pomerado will be participating in the Race for Autism SUPERHERO 5K and One Mile Family Fun Walk on Saturday April 11th. We would love for Pomerado Families to participate in any way that brings them joy. We will accept donations to the Pomerado Wildcat Team page (link below) or even individual participants. We would also love to walk with you on Saturday April 11th in Balboa Park so if that feels like a fun way to participate, the more the merrier. Every dollar raised goes directly to support autism programs and services that are making a difference for those with autism. Thank you in advance for being a SUPERHERO for autism!

Course Request Forms are due by this Friday, March 13th!

• Incoming 6th Grade Families Link. It includes presentations, course information, FAQs, and additional resources from Parent Night and our visits.
• Teachers will be collecting the blue Course Request Form that were sent home. Students need to return their blue CRF form to their 5th grade teacher by Friday, March 13th. Please have student write their name and Student ID number.

Take a night off from cooking and support our 5th Grade Boosters! Join us for a delicious meal at Thai Ladle a Wildcat Family Owned Restaurant on Wednesday, March 11th. A portion of all proceeds will go directly toward funding our 5th-grade end-of-year activities, promotion, and celebrations! 🎓✨
