CNE Rocket Families,

As many of you are aware, the 2024 Ohio State Report Card was released on Friday. Across the district, we continue to meet state standards in Academic Achievement, Graduation Rates, and Early Literacy. Our elementary school exceeded expectations in closing educational gaps, demonstrating our commitment to supporting all students, our middle school students showed solid growth, further strengthening our momentum, and our high school continues to be well above the state average in graduation rate.

While we remain focused on improving in all areas - some more than others - these results reflect the hard work and dedication of our students, staff, and community. Together, we will continue to build on these successes and ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

With Rocket Pride,

Tim Sies

Ohio Attorney General's Teen Ambassador Board Ohio Attorney General's Teen Ambassador Board

AG Yost Encourages High-School Students to Apply for Teen Ambassador Board

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) — The office of Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost is accepting applications for Yost’s Teen Ambassador Board (TAB) for the 2024-25 academic year.

TAB – which is designed for high-school juniors and seniors from public, private, charter and online schools statewide, including home-schooled students – offers young people an opportunity to engage with state government officials and discuss issues affecting their lives.

“This program allows Ohio teenagers to gain firsthand experience in law and government,” Yost said. “It's a chance for our future leaders to have their voices heard and to play an active role in shaping their communities.”

Board members serve a one-year term, during which they convene twice in Columbus to collaborate and advise the Attorney General's Office on matters relevant to teens.

The ideal applicant is a motivated, enthusiastic self-starter who has an interest in law and government, seeks to develop leadership skills, and wants to make a difference.

Board members participate in small group projects, attend presentations, meet with Attorney General Yost, and interact with assistant attorneys general and elected officials.

The submission deadline for applications – an application can be found here – is Sept. 22, 2024. For more information about the program, visit www.OhioAttorneyGeneral.gov/TeenAmbassadorBoard.

Said Yost: “Don’t miss this chance to be part of a dynamic group of young leaders and make a meaningful impact on the state of Ohio.”

Safety Drill Exercise October 3rd Safety Drill Exercise October 3rd

On Thursday, October 3rd, Clermont Northeastern Schools will conduct a state-required safety drill, along with a reunification exercise. This drill is an important part of our Standard Response Protocol (SRP) and Standard Reunification Method (SRM), which are critical elements in our overall safety plan. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority, and this practice will help us prepare for a variety of situations, including inclement weather, power outages, water outages, or hazardous material incidents.

What to Expect

  • At approximately 1:30 PM, Middle and High School students and staff will participate in a classroom-based safety drill, something we practice several times each year. Afterward, they will take the drill one step further by practicing the reunification process.

  • Students and staff will watch a safety video with an explanation.

  • VIDEO LINK

  • At approximately 2:30 PM, Elementary School students will begin an age-appropriate safety drill, followed by the reunification exercise.

  • Student will be watching a safety video from a book titled “I’m Not Scared, I’m Prepared”

Reunification Process

  • The reunification process involves families picking up their children from school in a safe, controlled manner. Families who pick up their children will report to the CNEAA Fields (2702 US-50, Batavia, OH 45103), located just west of the campus.

  • Staff will be on-site to direct you to parking. Once parked, families will be asked to fill out a reunification card and return it to staff stationed in the CNEAA parking lot. Please remember to bring a PHOTO ID for verification, and you must be listed as an approved pickup on Final Forms.

  • After filling out the reunification card, families should remain in their cars and wait for further instructions on how to proceed to the school buildings.

Important Details

  • Families with students in both the Middle and High Schools will stop at the Middle School first to pick up their children before proceeding to the High School.

  • Students who ride the bus or drive themselves will be dismissed in a controlled manner and do not need to participate in the reunification process. They will leave the campus approximately 10-15 minutes earlier than on typical dismissal days.

  • All other entrances to the campus will be blocked for this exercise. Families picking up students at dismissal on October 3rd will be directed to the CNEAA Fields.

Early Pick-Up Option

If you do not wish to participate in the drill, you are welcome to pick up your child early, but all early pickups must be completed by 1:00 PM.

Why Are We Doing This?

Reunification is an essential part of our school safety plan that we have not previously practiced. In the event of an emergency, such as severe weather or a power outage, we must ensure we can reunite students with their families in a safe, organized way. This exercise will help us refine and improve the process, ensuring we are well-prepared should a real event occur. Our goal is to make sure your children understand that this is a learning exercise and not something to fear.

We appreciate your support and patience as we work together to make our school community safer for everyone.

Rocket Roundup

Rocket nation, we have reached the half way point of our fall sports seasons. A huge thank you to all the student-athletes, coaches, staff, parents and fans that have worked so hard and have supported our teams to this point. I have enjoyed witnessing the incremental improvement of our student-athletes and our programs. I strongly encourage the student-athletes to continue to focus on their nutrition, hydration, sleep and strength and conditioning. Coaches are encouraged to continue to put an emphasis on fundamentals, proper technique, team play, strength and conditioning and discipline in tense situations. Spectators please continue to respect the game and treat other spectators, administrators, officials/referees and our opponents with the utmost respect. Let's have another great week. Go Rockets!
