It's Concert Week!
WPS Middle and High School Orchestras
Here We Go!
Concert Date: January 25, 2023 (This Wednesday!)
The concert will begin at 7:00 pm at WHS and last approximately 45 minutes including transitions and any speaking. We will have a quick run-through/sound check at 6:00 pm at WHS, so I ask students to do their best to arrive by 5:50 pm.
The uniform is "professional," either black on the bottom, white on top, or all black, preferably with black shoes. Skirts should be close to knee-length or longer. Please do your best to avoid logos, jackets, hoodies, sneakers, etc.
WE ARE SEARCHING FOR...someone(s) willing to take photos (we have a camera you can use) and a couple of adults to sit with our students while they watch others perform. Let me know if you'd be willing to do either of these tasks, it is much appreciated!
High school music practice dates (time is 3:10 - 4:00) at WMS (for middle schoolers)
*Due to these practices, Festival Orchestra is on hiatus until Tuesday, February 7th

We typically have issues with the live stream cutting in and out; I'll record the concert and upload it to share with friends and family who may not be able to make it within 72 hours of the performance.
JR DISTRICT AUDITIONS - THIS SATURDAY (1/28) AT NEEDHAM HIGH SCHOOL
Students auditioning for junior districts:
I (Ms. Byham) will be at auditions all day as I am working as a manager of the junior orchestra. I'll be helping out all over but I assume I will be able to be at the check-in desk between 12:45 - 1:15 to help you get checked in and settled. If I'm not there you can let the check-in desk folks know I'm there and they can get me if needed.
- Watertown's slot begins at 1:15 (arrive 12:45 - 1:10 or so)
- The audition is $20; if you have not yet paid, you can bring in cash or a check made out to the City of Watertown to the audition or to school and give it to Ms. Byham
- The audition time will last 1 - 2 hours, as there are many students attending this audition
- At the audition, please find your way to the check-in desk. There will be a parent waiting area while students are brought to the warm-up area to wait for the audition
