Blaze Praise and Community Shout -Outs

At Lebanon Trail, we recognize students who exemplify FISD’s character traits through good citizenship and positive behavior. Blaze Praise shines a spotlight on those non-academic qualities that shape a respectful, responsible, and compassionate school community. A Blaze Praise nomination can boost a student’s confidence, reinforce the importance of good character, and enhance their overall school experience. Students are nominated for exemplifying one of our 4 Graduate Profile Pillars–Leadership, Innovation, Social Empathetic, and Driven by Values. The following students were nominated during the month of February. Congratulations Trail Blazers!

Similarly, staff members at Lebanon Trail are recipients of Blaze Praise awards in alignment with our Educator Profile. The 4 pillars of our Educator Profile are Achievement, Purpose, Leadership, and Character. The following staff members received Blaze Praise nominations in the month of February. Congratulations!

The following staff members received Community Shout-Outs in the month of February. Thank you for shining light on the awesome work our Lebanon Trail Staff are doing day in and day out. We appreciate your generosity!

Out of three full orchestras in the entire region (Band and Orchestra) Lebanon Trail took two of them! We are so proud of the collaboration happening in our Fine Arts Department.

This past Saturday, our JV Winter Guard competed at the NTCA State Championships at Hebron HS and finished in 4th place! This was our last competition of the season, but don’t worry! We’ll be performing our show one more time at the LT Friends & Family Show on March 27th at LTHS. The show starts at 6 PM in the Competition Gym. Hope to see you there!”

Congratulations to all our All-State Musicians for being recognized by the Frisco ISD School Board. Only 3% of the 72,000 student musicians who audition are selected. We are so proud of our outstanding Trail Blazers.

Congratulations to the following students for being accepted as delegates for the 2025 Boys State program.

Boys State is among the most respected and selective educational programs of government instructions for high school students. Sponsored by the American Legion, Frisco’s Post 178 selects only 20-25 11th grade boys from across the city to attend the Boys State program in Austin. Selection for this program is highly competitive and the population of students attending represents the top talent from across the state.

Welcome Mrs. McElhinney - Counselor for Li-Ri

Hello! My name is Terie McElhinney, and I am excited to serve as the newest counselor here at Lebanon Trail! I’ve spent the last 7 years as the middle school ILA teacher at the SOC. I was an event planner for 17 years before going into education. I live in McKinney with my husband and two daughters. One of my daughters graduated from FISD a few years ago and one is set to graduate this year. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, engaging in outdoor activities, and rooting for the Dallas Stars. I look forward to contributing to the success and well-being of our students at Lebanon Trail.

RSVP to join a discussion with The Princeton Review on March 27th at 6:30 PM for an insightful session about the growing role of AP exams in college admissions and how they compare to traditional standardized tests like the SAT and ACT.

With AP test participation far surpassing SAT and ACT enrollment- even before the pandemic- many students and parents are wondering: could AP’s eventually replace traditional standardized tests like the SAT and ACT?

“40 Tests To Rule Them All” will be held in person and tackle key questions, including:

  • Are AP tests becoming the new admission standard?

  • What are the mental health implications of increasing AP exam pressure?

  • Will the shift to digital AP’s improve the testing experience?

Featuring Princeton Review's Editor-in-chief Rob Franek
