Introducing Our New Coordinator of Learning
Hello Tiger Nation!
My name is Chris Keating and I will be the Coordinator of Learning beginning with the 2026-27 school year. I come to the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District with 25 years of experience in public education. I spent 22 years with the Parma City School District as a classroom teacher, Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, Summer School principal, and Elementary building principal. The past three years I have been an Elementary building principal with the Stow-Munroe Falls City Schools. I am licensed to teach Elementary Education (grades 1-8) and Middle School Math (grades 4-9). I also have my license to serve as Principal for grades K-12 and I just received my license to serve as a School Superintendent in Ohio.
I am excited to join the Curriculum & Instruction team. I have experience serving on curriculum adoption committees and piloting new curriculum materials through my years as a teacher and an administrator. I have also served on curriculum writing teams that have created curriculum maps for multiple subjects and grade-levels. I look forward to working with building leadership teams and building teaching teams to support them with implementing high quality curriculum and instructional practices.
If you have a question or want to reach out, you can contact me at my CH-UH email address - c_keating@chuh.org. I hope you have a relaxing and restful summer break.

Optional Summer Learning with Zearn & Lexia
As summer approaches, some families may be looking for optional ways to help students keep skills fresh during the break. Both Lexia and Zearn provide opportunities for students to continue practicing and building skills over the summer in a flexible, self-paced way. A Family Letter with Login Directions is linked and can be shared with families.
📖 Lexia
No additional setup is needed for Lexia. Students can continue working on their personalized learning path throughout the summer using the same login information and access they currently use during the school year.
➕ Zearn
For Zearn, we recommend re-assigning students to specific missions. These summer learning recommendations focus on essential math concepts that help build a strong foundation for the upcoming school year.
These missions were selected to reinforce key “big ideas” in their current math and help students build confidence heading into the fall. This Summer Work Tracker is available to help encourage and organize optional summer learning.
Students will continue to have access to their current classes and assignments until approximately August 6, when classes will roll over for the new school year.
Optional summer practice can help students maintain routines, strengthen foundational skills, and build confidence heading into the fall.
