Message from Ms. Lahey Message from Ms. Lahey

Greetings Hembree Families,

Spring Break is Here!

What an incredible week we've had, filled with fun and excitement! Our third graders dazzled us with their musical performance of “It’s a Hit” on Thursday. They truly shone on stage, and we owe a huge thank you to Ms. Slay, our dedicated music specialist, for her tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to our students. Your hard work is deeply valued and appreciated!

Today’s Field Day was a blast! A big shoutout to Ms. Marzetti for always going above and beyond to make this event unforgettable for our students. We also want to extend our gratitude to our amazing parent volunteers for their time and dedication. Your support means the world to us!

Parents of third, fourth, and fifth graders, please check your email for the resources from our Georgia Milestones meeting. We hope you find them helpful as we prepare for the upcoming assessments.

As we head into spring break, I wish all our students and families a restful and rejuvenating time. I’ll be using this break to recharge and tackle some spring cleaning at home. Enjoy your break, everyone!

Best Regards,

Nancy Lahey

Principal

PTA treats staff with donuts for Paraprofessional Day PTA treats staff with donuts for Paraprofessional Day

Wednesday was Paraprofessionals Appreciation Day. As Fulton County Schools Superintendent Mike Looney put it, "Join me in recognizing the quiet heroes of our schools: our paraprofessionals. Whether you are supporting students one-on-one, helping manage classrooms, or assisting with specialized instruction, your work is essential and deeply appreciated. Thank you for showing up every day with patience, compassion, and a commitment to student success. We could not do it without you."

HSES PTA partnered with Hembree Springs Elementary to fund the delivery of 9 boxes of donuts Wednesday morning from Sarah Donuts - Roswell (who chipped in a free box!) with some coffee for ALL staff to get their day started off on the right foot! Special shoutout to our VP of Teacher and Staff Support Kate Humboldt for her help in coordinating it! Principal Nancy Lahey spent the morning with a treat cart and wheeled it down the halls to deliver them.

Beanstack Reading App Beanstack Reading App

zoom_out_map

Have you heard your child mention anything about an app called Beanstack? It was introduced in the Media Center. Beanstack is a digital reading log that students can use to log the number of minutes they are reading. They can earn badges and rewards along the way. If your child is reading at school, home, daycare, etc. they can log their minutes and help us get closer to our goal. The following is a video explaining how to use Beanstack from home. You can always find your child's lunch number/student number in infinite campus or email Mrs. Soberanis: soberanis@fultonschools.org. Happy Reading!
