Choice of School and Magnet application

Garland ISD’s Choice of School and Magnet application allows families to select the campus they want their child to attend next school year. Not every student needs to apply, but it is required for students who are:

- Currently in 5th grade

- Currently in 8th grade

- Want to join a magnet program

- Want to switch campuses

Choice and Magnet application window is open from December 1 to January 12. Visit the School Choice & Magnet Application Guide webpage to learn about the steps families can follow to select their preferred schools and submit magnet applications during the annual Choice period.

SPEDTex Resources

The Special Education Information Center (SPEDTex) provides resources and interactive features for increasing family awareness of disabilities and special education processes, with the goal of improving partnerships between schools and families. Community Bulletin Board

All community members are invited to find and post information about activities, events, camps and other educational programs around the tri-cities using this online, eco-friendly space. GISD Littles Club

Parents are a child's first and most important teacher. Let us help prepare your family for success. Registration is open to all families in Garland, Rowlett and Sachse with children not enrolled in a district school (birth to five years old). Visit our Littles page to join.
