THE MUSK OX NEWS
September 19, 2025
Hello From The Principal's Desk,
It has been a hive of business here at the FPCS office over the past couple of weeks with families coming in for testing! I have enjoyed seeing so many of you here. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all who answered the call to come and do your part in contributing to the larger homeschooling conversation through testing!
It looks like we will be at or near 50% participation for both MAP testing and MClass this fall. This represents a significant increase in participation. While it is not yet as high as it could be, it does show great improvement and provides me, as the leader of the school, with more data to add to the larger conversation—so thank you!
In other news, we have lots of fun things happening here on campus this year. There are Muskox Roundups twice a month for both Upper Elementary and Middle School, as well as Student Government, Math Counts, Lego League (beginning soon), and so much more! Be sure to check out all of the opportunities!
We also have field trips and other events happening monthly, so keep your eyes open—these events fill up quickly.

Congratulations Charles!
Family Partnership student, Charles, is dual enrolled at King Tech High School. He recently took a test and received a National Institute for Auto Service Excellence in Brakes Certificate from his KTHS auto shop class through ASE (auto service excellence)! This is one of a few certificates he can earn.
He is the first of 3 to ever take it through KTHS!
Way to go Charles! 👏
Dear Parents of 10th – 12th grade students!
Family Partnership is starting a National Honor Society Chapter this school year. We have not had an active NHS chapter for a couple of years, so this is exciting news! The purpose of the National Honor Society is to create enthusiasm for scholarships, foster a desire to serve the community, promote leadership, and develop strong character.
I am writing to you now so that you and your student(s) are aware of the NHS application process. NHS candidates will be invited to apply in January, after the end of first semester. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher to be invited to apply. Applicants must also have a minimum of fifteen hours of documented volunteer service work. NHS applications are reviewed by an FPCS faculty council. Acceptance is based on the following criteria: outstanding academics, character, leadership, and service.
Now is the perfect time to earn excellent grades, to volunteer in the community, and to demonstrate leadership and good moral character. These are excellent objectives in themselves AND they may result in an invitation to join the Family Partnership Correspondence School’s National Honor Society Chapter.
If you have any questions or would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact me, Karin Owens, the FPCS NHS student advisor. Thanks!
Karin Owens
