It's Official: CVUSD is Home to the First TK-12 IB Continuum in Ventura County It's Official: CVUSD is Home to the First TK-12 IB Continuum in Ventura County

The Conejo Valley Unified School District is proud to share that Sequoia Middle School (grades 6-8) and Newbury Park High School (grades 9-10) have officially achieved authorization for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP)!

This significant accomplishment marks the culmination of a rigorous, multi-year process of planning, implementation, evaluation, and dedication to meeting the high standards of the International Baccalaureate Organization. Through the commitment of our students, staff, administrators, and community, both schools have successfully demonstrated their readiness to deliver the IB Middle Years Programme.

With this achievement, the CVUSD becomes the first school district in Ventura County to offer a complete TK–12 IB continuum. Students can now experience an IB education journey beginning at Cypress Elementary School (TK–5), continuing through Sequoia Middle School (grades 6–8) and Newbury Park High School (grades 9–10) through the MYP, and culminating with the IB Diploma Programme at Newbury Park High School (grades 11–12).

The IB Middle Years Programme is designed to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who are prepared to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world. Through challenging academics, global perspectives, and meaningful real-world connections, the MYP empowers students to become lifelong learners and engaged citizens. Click here to learn more.
