NO early drop off until 8:35am

Please make sure to wait until 8:35 before dropping off your student to the playground or in front of the school. We do not have supervision until 8:35 and we want to make sure everyone is safe. Thanks you for your cooperation and help keeping all of our Mustangs safe.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

parent-teacher conferences

For our Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences, our buildings will be hosting "virtual" Parent-Teacher Conferences and we will schedule this through Calendly. Please make sure the school has your current email as soon as possible.

By Monday, October 3, you will have received a LINK BY EMAIL specific to your child's teacher and their conference schedule. If you haven't received a link by October 3, please let the school know. You will be able to click on that link and select from one of our dates and times on Oct. 13th-14th. It will then go directly to the teacher's google calendar and make a Google Meet link.

As a parent, you will receive an email confirmation that has the Google Meet link address to go to for your conference on Oct. 13th or 14th.

*If requested, a phone conference can take the place of a "virtual" conference. If you would like to schedule a virtual conference with a Specials teacher (PE, Art, Computers, Music, you can do so by emailing them to set up a Google Meet or call the building to talk to the teacher to set up an appointment.

Emergency Safety Drills

During the school year, our buildings are obligated to practice at least 5 Fire Drills, 2 Tornado Drills and 3 Lockdown drills. At times, we do have our YSU Liaison or other police officers from the Police Department assist in our drills. We cover with our students the locations of where to go for each drill, what to do during specific drills, and how to properly evacuate when it is needed.

All classes have been focusing on the "teaching" aspect of doing drills and we have also all read the story, I'm Not Scared, I'm Prepared in their class with their teachers. This book focuses on the main components of our safety protocols that we work on with children.

I encourage you to check out our district website where we have information that pertains to our district school safety. Click here to get to the website.

Student Council Update Student Council Update

Student Council is going strong and our students are super excited to have this opportunity to serve McGuire and help continue to build our school community. At the first meeting, the members discussed expectations, brainstormed ideas for spirit days, Homecoming, and more!

Our Student Council members walked in the parade for Homecoming representing McGuire. We heard so many of your cheering during the parade and we LOVED it!

We have rockstar students that are a part of student council this year and we look forward to seeing them represent McGuire, making us proud!

If it is too cold or raining, you will follow the same drop-off time and the student will come in the school at the west entrance.
