Cafeteria Updates
Katy ISD Cafeteria Charge Policy
Katy ISD partners with parents/guardians to provide timely meal account information and help maintain sufficient funds for student meals. The district charge policy allows a student with insufficient funds for a meal purchase to receive a meal that will be charged to the student’s account. The expectation is that the parent will pay off all negative balances from the meal charges on the student’s account. Students who exceed the allowable charge amount will not receive a meal unless payment is presented at time of purchase.
Charge Limits
· Students may charge up to a maximum of five (5) breakfast meals and five (5) lunch meals. A value of Elementary -$21.25, Secondary -$23.75.
· This limit represents the maximum value of meals, not a la carte items, that may be charged to a student’s account.
Notification & Repayment Procedures
· Parents/guardians will receive daily automated courtesy calls and/or emails when a student’s cafeteria account has a negative balance, using the contact information on file.
· Parents/guardians are responsible for maintaining accurate and current contact information.
· The cafeteria purchase history may be viewed in the mobile app, School Café or https://www.schoolcafe.com .
· Low balance alerts may be setup, and payments may be made through Pay N Go, https://katyisd.revtrak.net.
Apply for Free or Reduced-Price Meals
· To determine eligibility for free or reduced-price meals for the 2026-2027 school year, families with students who do not attend a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) campus will need to complete a Meal Benefits/Free & Reduced meals application.
· Meal Benefit applications are accepted throughout the 2026-2027 school year. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Child Nutrition Programs Income Eligibility Guidelines can be found here.
· Visit the Katy ISD Nutrition and Food Services website for more information, https://katyisdfoodservices.com/ or call 281-396-6240.

Food for Families
Katy ISD’s Partners in Education invites you to support families who could use a little extra help during the winter break through our Food for Families campaign. Campuses identify students in need, and with support from the community, Partners in Education will provide grocery gift cards and a heartfelt note. Each gift is delivered by a campus staff member, reminding students that their Katy ISD family cares.
Help us turn a gift card into something more:

Medical Accommodations for 2026-2027
All medical accommodations for school require a Doctor's Note to be turned into the clinic each school year or for each new injury if needed temporarily. Rolling Backpacks are not permitted at Seven Lakes Junior High due to the large number of students in the hallway. The only exceptions are for those with orthopedic/medical needs verified by a specialist doctor's note yearly. Please turn in your doctor's note to the clinic if this is a required accommodation before bringing the rolling backpack to school. If you have any questions, please email Nurse Jennie at jenniferajenkins@katyisd.org
Medications
Please do not send medication with your child to drop off in the clinic without the proper Katy ISD paperwork filled out by a parent AND physician. Katy ISD medication paperwork can be picked up in the clinic, on the SLJH Clinic website, or requested by email from Nurse Jennie. Students are not allowed to carry medication at school. Cough drops are considered medication and may not be carried at school. Peppermints and Jolly Ranchers are a good substitute for cough drops if your student needs something to help during the school day. EpiPens and inhalers may be carried, but ONLY with proper paperwork turned into the clinic first signed by their physician. Please email or call the clinic if you have any medication administration questions.
**If your child forgot to take their medication at home, PARENTS/LEGAL GUARDIANS (only) are able to medicate their child in the front office during the school day. Please bring a valid photo ID and water if needed to do so.
6th Grade Parents: Eleven-Year-Old Immunizations
Please turn in a copy of your child's eleven-year-old immunizations (TDAP and Meningitis) to jenniferajenkins@katyisd.org to clear your child's TDAP and Meningitis immunization requirements. These immunizations are due before 7th grade. Please turn them in by Winter break (December 2026) as we have over 500 students to collect. These are the last state required immunizations that must be turned into Katy ISD. If you need a place for your child to receive these immunizations, Texas Vaccine Institute (TVI) is a wonderful walk-in Immunization Clinic that is open Monday-Saturday. You do need to take your child's current immunization record with you if you go to TVI. Their hours are listed on their website.
Seven Lakes Ladies
Please keep monthly supplies refilled in your child's backpack as well as an extra pair of leggings and underwear. Surprises happen all the time and most of our students do not want to change into dress code pants. Extra feminine supplies are available in the clinic. Our ladies can always come to the clinic for help, but if your child is coming too frequently for supplies, a parent will be notified as our supplies are limited.
