Mrs. Babcock’s Trout Are Hatching! Mrs. Babcock’s Trout Are Hatching!

Exciting news from Mrs. Babcock’s 4th grade classroom—our trout have arrived and are growing fast! The students predicted that the eggs would hatch around January 29th, and right on schedule, they’ve started to hatch!

Currently, the trout are in the alevin stage, meaning they still have their yolk sacs attached, which will continue to nourish them for the next couple of weeks. Students have noticed movement in the egg basket, a sign that these tiny swimmers are getting ready for their next phase of growth.

Soon, the trout will transition from alevins to the fry stage, where they will begin feeding and exploring their environment. Before long, they will leave the basket and start swimming along the bottom of the tank.

Stay tuned for more updates as our trout continue to grow!

Kiosk for checking in & checking out Kiosk for checking in & checking out

To my Butte View families:

I hope this message finds you well! I want to inform you of an important change starting February 3rd. Moving forward, I will no longer be able to assist with visitor check-ins or student check-ins and check-outs at the front desk.

To make the process as smooth as possible, please note the following:

  • Always bring your photo ID or driver’s license to use our convenient Kiosk at the front.
  • If you are checking in your student, you do not need your ID.
  • However, if you (or anyone you send) are checking a student out, an ID will be required. If an ID is not presented, I will need to ask you to retrieve it from your vehicle before proceeding.

I understand this may feel inconvenient or time-consuming, especially when you're in a hurry. To help things go smoothly, I recommend arriving a bit earlier if you need to check out your student by a certain time.

I’ve truly enjoyed assisting you all at the front desk, but as our school continues to grow, it’s become increasingly challenging for me to manage everything efficiently. I appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this change—it helps ensure the process is secure and organized for everyone.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me via phone at 208-365-4691 or email at skelley@isd221.net.

Thank you for your understanding and support!

Warm regards,
Ms. Stephanie

Huskie Howler Winners! Huskie Howler Winners!

We are excited to share with you an opportunity for our students to earn what we call Huskie Howlers (also known as "Howls"). This positive behavior program encourages students to embody our core values:

  • H - Having Respect for Everyone
  • O - Owning My Actions
  • W - Working and Playing Safely
  • L - Learning with Intention
  • S - Showing Kindness

When staff members observe students exhibiting these qualities, they can award a Howls ticket. Each week, students that have earned a Howls ticket have the chance win a prize. This is randomly chosen!

Congratulations to our winners so far this year!

Tis the season for sickness

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we navigate through cold and flu season, we kindly ask for your help in keeping our students and staff healthy.

Here are a few important reminders:

  • Keep your child home if their temperature is 100°F or higher.
  • Encourage your child to wash their hands frequently to help prevent the spread of germs.
  • If anyone at home is contagious, please monitor your child for any symptoms to ensure they are not getting sick as well. We want to avoid the continued spread of illness.

At school, we will:

  • Keep students in class as long as they are not running a fever or vomiting.
  • Evaluate students with additional symptoms to determine if further care is needed.
  • Offer cough drops and administer Children's Tylenol or Ibuprofen as necessary. If medication is given, I will call parents to inform you of what was given and the time it was administered.

We are also encouraging students to practice healthy habits, such as:

  • Coughing into their elbow ("like a vampire").
  • Using tissues to wipe their noses and disposing of them properly.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Ms. Stephanie or Nurse Anderson. Thank you for your partnership in keeping our school community healthy!
