Leighton Update
November 7th, 2025
Dear Leighton Families,
Our Fall Festival parties were a huge success! A big thank you to the AEPTO and volunteers for creating a fun and engaging opportunity for our kids. The students and staff looked awesome and had a wonderful time.
As I am sure many of you have heard, our Aurora HS boys soccer team is STATE BOUND, for the first time in the program's history! They will play Bishop Watterson on Sunday Nov. 9th night at 7pm for the Division III State Title. There is a link for tickets provided below. We wish the team and Coach Kastelic all the best this coming Sunday; Go Greenmen!
This week the students are encouraged to wear red, white and blue on Tuesday in honor of Veterans Day and on Thursday, for World Kindness Day, students are asked to wear as much blue as possible, to show a "sea of kindness".
Picture Retakes are on Tuesday 11/11; a Final Forms message was sent out this past Monday, 11/3 with the information and the links are provided in this newsletter, as well. The bookfair begins on 11/17, look for information provided by the PTO in this newsletter. Finally, included is also information about Leighton's 2-hour delay schedule in case this were to occur as we head into the winter months. If school were to be cancelled or delayed, you will receive a phone call through our call system, a Final Forms message from Superintendent Dr. Milcetich and you can always check local news stations.
Have a fantastic weekend and Go Greenmen Soccer!
Sincerely,
Spencer Warders

Treats For Troops!
Leighton Leaders are excited to announce our Treats for Troops candy collection! From November 3–17, we’ll be gathering extra Halloween candy to send to troops serving overseas. If you have leftover or extra candy, please drop it off in the bins outside of the library or by the front doors. These brave men and women work hard for our country and won’t get to go trick-or-treating with their own kids — and they like candy too! Let’s help bring them a smile and show our appreciation with a sweet treat from home.
Thank you for helping make a difference!
Fall Festival Fun!

Leighton Car Rider and Parking
Parents who drop their students off in the morning - if more time is needed to unload, please park your vehicle in a spot in the parking lot and walk your student across the cross walk. This time is holding up the car line process and if you park it will make things safer and expedite our system. Additionally, please ensure we are pulling all the way up and making as much room as possible for each "wave" of car riders at arrival and dismissal. When we stop prematurely, this slows down our process and causes more cars to pull around others.
Additionally, during the school day, if you need to park to pick up a student, the gate near Miller is now closed due to students being at recess. The gate you would use to enter and exit would be the main gate closest to the main office doors. Cones are blocking cars from entering where we have students playing for recess and we recently had cars drive over these to attempt to exit. We place cones for safety and traffic pattern purposes and ask that we please do not move them or drive over these.
Thank you.
