Parent - Week of 10/14
Week of October 14
Fall into Sixth Gradeπππ
Can you believe it? October 18th marks the end of the first quarter, meaning your student is already 8.3% done with his or her middle school journey! October is one of my favorite months here at SMS, as the learning becomes even more engaging, student confidence continues to grow, and the sense of community within each pod is truly incredible to witness. We are so proud of how far our 6th graders have come already - keep up the fantastic work!
Warmly,
Tera Thomas

You are invited to our Veteran's Day Parade at SMS. Please come and join our SMS students, as we THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE. As you drive through our parking lot, our Strongsville Veteran's will be given a small token of our appreciation while serenaded with a tribute of American music from our select band, choir, and orchestra. Thank you for all for your service to protect our country.
The Parade will begin at 9:00am on November 11th. You will follow the signs through our parking lot. As you slowly move through the line, roll down your windows so you can hear the music that is being dedicated to you. You are welcome to stop and listen for awhile. We hope to see you on November 11th, at 9:00am.
Please RSVP here by November 4, 2024

Friendship Foundations: Growing Your Circle at SMS
In a recent needs assessment, many of our sixth graders identified "Making and Keeping Friends" as one of their top concerns. As we move through this exciting first quarter, it's no surprise with 443 sixth graders navigating new friendships and co-mingling each day! Here are some tips to help our Mustangs build and maintain meaningful connections. Let's continue fostering a strong, supportive community together!
Lip's Diner
Any sixth grade student that would like an alternative to eating in the cafeteria is welcome to make reservations at The Lip Diner. Come relax, listen to music, and enjoy interacting with your friends from other pods! The Diner is open 5 days a week during the sixth grade lunchtime. Visit the link and sign up for the days you would like to come. We book a week in advance so make sure to sign up if you plan on attending (and you might notice that reservations won't open until the week prior).
