Spikers Volleyball

Spikers Volleyball is an instructional intramural league designed to teach teamwork, build confidence, and develop strong volleyball fundamentals. This six-week program meets on Mondays and Wednesdays and provides players with high-quality instruction from WLCSD Volleyball Coaches, along with demonstrations from local high school athletes.

Teams will begin the season with clinic-style practices during the first week, then move into a weekly rotation of practices and games. Exact practice/game times will be determined once registration has closed.

Spikers will take place at Clifford Smart Middle School and Walnut Creek Middle School. Your child’s assigned location will be based on their home school. Teams are formed by the WLCE Recreation Department using the following criteria:

• School the player attends
• Number of available volunteer coaches
• Total number of players per school
• Late registrations will be placed on teams that have roster space. Special requests cannot be honored. Shirts are not guaranteed for late registrants.

• $165 through December 14
• $185 beginning December 15 (late fee)

All participants will need black athletic shorts, knee pads, and a water bottle.

Mandatory background checks, clearance, and concussion training are required.

Team placement, practice schedules, and game schedules will be emailed no later than January 9.

Practices and games will run on Mondays and Wednesdays, January 21 – March 11.

Teams will be created by the WLCE Recreation Department using our established Team Formation Guidelines. We are not able to honor special requests. WLCE uses the TeamSnap app to manage practice and game schedules. Once teams and schedules are finalized, players will receive an email invitation to join their team on TeamSnap.

• 100% refund, minus $10 administrative fee, if request is prior to deadline date. Minus jersey fee if refund request is made after jerseys are ordered.
• 50% refund if requested after practice has started but before the first game is played.
• 0% refund once the first game has been played.
• Medical refund requests will be determined by the Director of WLCE based on circumstances.

• If Walled Lake Schools are closed due to adverse weather, all Community Education programs are also closed. Families will be notified of cancellations by email.
• Reschedule information will be emailed the next business day.
• If games are canceled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, every attempt will be made to reschedule. Make-up games are not guaranteed. No refund or credit will be given if games cannot be rescheduled.
